Read moreLove Mami Luz's! Lived right down the street and didn't make our way there until shortly before we moved.....so regretful that we waited so long!! Staff is super friendly and the restaurant is really nice inside. The drinks are great (adult and coffee) and the food is amazing. My wife gets the Chips and Guac along with the Coconut Shrimp everything and is never disappointed! The chips that come with the guacamole are the best we've ever had, but they are not your normal tortilla chips but more of like a thinner version of an arepa (please don't be mad If i got that wrong haha) fried and dusted with Tajin, and the guac is super fresh and delicious. Shrimp (in every item I've had there) is super tender, fresh and delicious. My favorite item is the Jumbalaya though, I dwouldnt have thought originally thought to get it at a Latin restaurant, but it was one of the best decisions I have made. Everything is cooked to order, and you can tell. The Jambalaya is one of the best things I have eaten and is enough for 2 meals (just add some more rice the next day). Super flavorful with Chicken, sausage, and shrimp along with peppers and onions in a spicy, garlic tomato based sauce MUST TRY!
We have had the brunch as well and also does not disappoint, perfectly cooked eggs with meat, veggies and crispy tots make the...
Read moreI’d like to emphasize that this is more of a cafe than a restaurant. It is full service, but the food is mostly tapas and small appetizers.
Pros: They have an alcoholic bar and a LOT of options for coffees; hot, iced, many different flavors. Its a good hangout place to go to with friends, grab some drinks and appetizers and just talk or study. The ambiance is AMAZING! Really love the decor inside, you’ll like it if atmosphere is important to you.
Cons: Service was kind of lackluster but again, it’s more of a cafe with some table service than it is a restaurant. The guy who greeted us (or, kind of greeted us) was pretty cold. Our waitress asked us to cash out with her because her shift was ending so we ended up feeling really rushed. I’ve worked in the food industry for 5 years and I’ve never asked my table to cash out before for this exact reason. It was difficult to get her or anyone else’s attention when we wanted to order more things. Aside from that the service from her was fine, maybe she had an emergency or something but it was a bit odd.
I would say 4/5 stars, just be objective when you come here. Again, great laid back hangout spot but probably not really a full...
