I've been meaning to write a review every time I come. It's one of my father's favorite places to come (all you can eat soul food). He doesn't have to worry about the food being over season and messing up "his numbers." They have everything you need to get the taste buds flowing if you need it, but I enjoy eating it as is. I want to stay high blood pressure free! Every time I go, it's the same menu. They have a hot bar, cold bar, and dessert bar. I always forget about the shrimp in the cold station bar. I'm usually too full to eat them, but for those of you who enjoy them on your salad or a dish on the side, have at it!
I enjoy seeing most of the same faces every time I show up. Mrs. Lisa is always walking around greeting everyone and making sure you are satisfied throughout your dining experience and NOT just at the end when it's time to collect the bill. I enjoy having small talk with her. This is another place that I've been coming to since I was a young girl and have had the pleasure of celebrating many family moments here. You can bring in your balloons, gifts and cakes to make your celebration special.
It's plenty of free parking....they even let you park on the lawn when it's extremely packed. We love sitting out on the extra large porch and talking amongst ourselves and to others.
Wheelchair friendly!
Every time they put the fried chicken out, the wings are the first to go!
I have a few pictures, but forgive me for waiting till closing to remember to take pictures. I had to ask the staff to hold on while I snapped a few photos. I was too hungry when I first sat down. We went Father's Day of 2025. We had reservations and were seated at our table early!
I'll take better pictures of the...
Read moreWe went on Mother's Day and had a reservation since they only take reservations on holidays. The person who answered the phone and took my reservation was very nice. The way it apparently works when you have a reservation is that you are assigned to a specific table. We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation since we knew there would be a large crowd and so that we would be seated on time. Well our reservation time came and I checked on when they were going to seat us and was told that they were cleaning off our assigned table. When ten more minutes passed and we still weren't seated I inquired again and the younger host told me that the main host had seated some other people at the table on the veranda that they were cleaning off for us. When I approached the main host and told her that the other host told me that someone else was seated at our assigned table she got sort of an attitude. I was just trying to give my mother a beautiful Mother's Day lunch/meal and didn't want her day ruined by her table being given away. At that point almost all of the other guests that were waiting on the wrap around porch for their reservations had already been seated. The main host finally realized that she shouldn't have given our table away and finally seated us in the hat room. My mom would have rathered to be on the veranda which is where I assigned table was. The host ended us apologizing again and said "that is not how we want to do business" but I'm not happy that this could have ruined my mom's Mother's Day. To make it worse I found out that the people that were seated at our our original table before us didn't even have a reservation. I'm not sure if I will ever come back to this...
Read moreYesterday, my prayer group and I celebrated our 6-year anniversary at The Historic Green Manor from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. However, some members were late due to traffic caused by a fire in Rockdale County. I'm struggling to put into words the terrible experience we had. Despite visiting this place several times, yesterday was different. The hostess, an older Caucasian woman with a bouffant named Linda, frequently entered and exited the room with her clicker, never asking if we needed anything and refusing to speak to us. It seemed she didn't want us there. I believe she may be one of the owner’s granddaughters. When my cousin, our guest speaker, was ministering, the hostess rudely interrupted her saying “Lady, you need to let these people go eat,” The minister then said “Ok, Can we give God just one more minute?” Remind you that most of the people in the room had eaten with the exception of maybe 5 people. She said “You got 19 minutes and were closing.” Despite it being 4:25 pm. After this encounter, the remaining guests lost their appetite. My cousin still paid for everyone, as we were there for fellowship, but the hostess's behavior left a bad taste in our mouths. The word says resist the devil and he will flee. Well in this case it was she. But once she left that room, she proceeded to walk up and down the hallway with her arms folding as if she was mad at the whole world but she never walked back into to that room to say another word. I will never ever visit this establishment again. With the number of people in the group, I know the bill was well over $700 and that’s the way you treat your customers ma’am? I feel for the people who have to work with...
