Absolutely delightful, tucked away location at the end of a small shopping center surrounded by trees. Friendly employees who greet you and want to know your coffee preferences. Lovely selection of regular and gluten free food items like cookies and scones and whatnot. Clean and well organized place with good seating options, including the indoor-outdoor countertop that just feels so fresh and fun. So why less than five stars? The coffee was good but not fantastic, the roast on the beans tasted undeveloped and immature, as if depth of flavor potential had just begun to come through and then bap! the beans were removed from the roaster too soon. Just my opinion. I've had coffee in Perth, Australia, but I will admit I have never had coffee in Sydney, Australia, so it could just be a style thing. I prefer more depth and a wider range of roasty nuance to my coffee. So, would I recommend Cypress Coffee? Genuinely, I would, I'd just remind folks to expect a more light and beachy sort of coffee that features a green chippiness to it. Not a bad thing, but an interesting thing. Try the mocha and sip, watching perfectly formed milk bubbles swivel against your lip. Gaze into the trees. A hummingbird might pop by. Relax. Nibble the pain au chocolat. People watch. Smile....
Read moreIâve been visiting Cypress Coffee for years all my precious experiences were good, thats why i was completely shocked today when I was treated rudely by a barista. I was at drive through window this morning, a girl apparently ignored my greetings asked me what i want, i was trying to order two coffee latte and one almond croissant, that girl kept saying âwhat, i dont understand, what âŚâ not matter how many times i repeated. Then i was realized she just chose to NOT understand my request. Yes i am not a native speaker, but i do know how to properly pronounce coffee and croissant. As a minority i also understand micro-aggressive and discrimination sometimes happens but i never expect this would occur from a cafe at my own community, not to say the owner of this Cafe is also Asian. I am completely disappointed by what happened today, i will not visit this place again.
And also worth to mention, even after i walked into the store and placed order , i still did not get the almond croissant i wanted, instead they gave me a almond pinwheels and insisted thats a...
Read moreI am a regular at Cypress Coffee. I started going when I moved in to the neighborhood in Spring of 2025, and within a week the friendly staff knew my name and order.
The coffee is great and the food is above average for the local shops, but thatâs not what keeps me coming in. To a person, the staff here is remarkably friendly and kind in a very real, authentic way.
I could offer a hundred examples of this: the staff interacting with my kids and family, Ryan offering to jump my dead battery, genuine interest about my life and history. All of it goes far above and beyond their offerings.
Cypress Coffee is the epitome of what a neighborhood gathering spot should be. It is a third place without the pretense of designating itself a third place. It showcases local art, lends books, and enhances our neighborhood well beyond offering...
