Stopped by Coco Jim’s around 6pm for lobster rolls and we were the only people there, but unfortunately he was out for the day. Jim was very upbeat and friendly and recommended we try the bbq chicken instead, and it was absolutely incredible, as were the potato salad and slaw. Also ordered the best painkillers we had on the island. I asked Jim if he would have lobster rolls the next day and he said, “yes, but you should come earlier.” I left with a friendly “We’ll see you tomorrow!” Fast forward to 12:30pm the next day and apparently “Loco” Coco Jim showed up. I said, “hello my friend, do you have lobster today?” To which he completely went on berating schizophrenic tirade. In conclusion, I would maybe consider giving him one more chance just because the food was so good and I do understand that mental illnesses is a thing. Oh and I almost forgot to warn you all about all of the dog poop on the way to the restroom. Good on ya...

Don't miss this place!! First time in St.Thomas and St. John and we did the $350 meals, the fancy waterfront restaurants...but this was our favorite! We picked up Jim's $20 smoked chicken dish to-go and took it back to our house to sit by the pool and watch sunset over the bay with our own mixed drinks. The BEST idea ever! The food was AMAZING....very large portions (chicken, potato salad and slaw - I want the recipe for everything!) and we even had enough to mix with fried potatoes and eggs in the morning. The smoke flavor in the chicken is awesome. We have left every restaurant before this not "fully satisfied" for the price and the portions...not with Jim (love him by the way!)! Oh, and his chili (complimentary while you wait on your food) was phenomenal!...

We ended up at Coco Jim's twice during our week stay on the island. Perfect late lunch after a day in Coral Bay or the North Shore Beaches. The smoked chicken is phenomenal. The smoothies and frozen drinks are top notch. We also had a lobster roll, hamburger and hotdog. But the atmosphere is really made by Jim, the proprietor, who welcomes you with a fun spirit and - later in the day - you might also enjoy chili chock full of beans. You will need no more fiber for the day.

Jim has really made his space beautiful, in a place where one not expect it. And it is further enhanced with a motley crew of sweet animals who are curious but, not at all bothersome. We saw roosters, a female peacock, a sweet and adoring cat, and a...

We made it to Coco Jim’s today and loved it! Coco Jim is himself is lovely, Duke - his four legged mascot is the sweetest- and the drinks were 🤌🏾 Painkillers are on par price wise with the rest of the island but their size and potency make them worth far more than the $15 (they’re less than HALF the size down the street!)! We had some his homemade minestrone and it was delicious! Our family of four had a great experience and will be back for sure! Coco Jim is a gem! Edited: returned today and had the bbq chicken (hot dog for kiddos)— absolutely delicious!! Includes sides of potato salad and coleslaw.
