Latrobe Cone Zone — Restaurant in Unity Township

You want to know Latrobes best kept secret off the beaten path, well here it is. Latrobe Cone Zone! A family operated small establishment of joy that you will always see a line patiently waiting to get their order taken for a delicious, generous and affordable treat. Yes, you are reading my words correctly, "generous" and "affordable." You will not break the bank going out with your family to simply get ice-cream here. Oh no.... you easily can get a family of 4 their desired treat being a cone, Artic Blast (think Blizzard), sundaes, shakes and their special creative Stackers among other specials for a fraction of what other establishment cost. The ice cream is good too. We're not talking "ice-milk" here. They also sell grilled hot food items during the week, but I really feel, in my opinion, the majority are there for the treats. There do have a small deck sitting area off to the side if you wish to stay. Parking can sometimes be hard, but they do the best with what they are given to work with. They also will have special weekends where they sponsor a food truck, so look on their FB page to find out when those events are happening. I don't know a person in my town or a kid who doesn't know what Cone Zone is. So if you get the chance, check their FB page before you make a long trip for their hours as sometimes they have to close for certain reasons and come check out the diamond of a small...

I love this place and the prices are unmatched. The wait is absolutely awful though. One time I went, I was getting rained on (it started raining out of nowhere and i didnt have an umbrella handy), and another time, I couldn't get out of the sun and was so hot. I've never been there and out under 45 minutes. Again, prices are wonderful and so are the options but, until they are able to make the line out of the elements and the wait not so long I don't think I can go back. 😔 but, if you don't mind the wait I would highly recommend. We love supporting small local businesses!

Edit after owner response: (previous 3-star review down to 1 based on rudeness of owner) I would not recommend anyone to come here again based solely on the childish response to my honest review. If you can't take less than 5-star reviews, maybe you should stay off Google? That was completely unprofessional and regardless of you not sleeping, eating, or drinking, that should have nothing to do with how you run a business. I wasnt even being rude in my original review i was just saying it's a wait if you're in a hurry and I don't expect you to be robots, I don't know how you got that out of my original review. I am just so surprised that an owner would respond in such a way, it really shows your lack of professionalism. I will recommend anyone to go to Barkley's or Lee's based on good wait times and...

We were planning on getting food with our ice cream, we checked the menu on line before we went there, but when we arrived we were told the grill was closed on the weekend. The ice cream was very reasonably priced and a good portion, but nothing special.

TO OWNER: In regards to your response to my review. Maybe you don't understand what a review is, but it is a review a person has on their personal experience at an establishment. I was passing through the area and found your place on Google maps (NOT FACEBOOK). No where on the information for your business was it listed your grill was closed on the weekend. When you promise kids they can have ice cream if they eat their meal and you get there and find out the grill isn't on but the kids see the ice cream it is disappointing. So maybe instead of you giving me your life story for a 3 star review you can take 2 seconds and post on Google Maps that your grill is closed on...
