Outstanding Hidden Gem Don’t let its location fool you—Acapulco Mexican Restaurant Express, tucked inside a small shopping center next to a gas station, is an absolute treasure. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm “hello” and a genuine smile. That kind of hospitality makes a difference, and it immediately sets the tone for a great dining experience. This is a walk-up, order-at-the-counter type of place, with self-seating options. You can either sit at a table or at the side bar overlooking the kitchen—both are great choices, depending on your mood. I personally love that setup because it adds to the charm and casual, inviting atmosphere. Now, let’s get to the food—because WOW. I ordered the bacon and egg mix plate, which came with beans and potatoes, and I had the option of corn or flour tortillas. I went with corn (my favorite), and they were soft, warm, and perfect. My husband got a carne guisada taco and a chorizo, potato, and egg taco on flour tortillas. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you could taste the authenticity and freshness in every dish. Our drinks came out quickly, followed by our food, which was served hot and fresh. The meal also came with green and red salsa—both were fantastic, but the red salsa was my favorite with its bold, flavorful kick. And now, let’s talk about price—because this might be the best part. $13.50 for everything! That’s almost unheard of for food this good, this fresh, and this filling. Between the friendly service, delicious food, and unbeatable prices, Acapulco Mexican Restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves way more attention. We will absolutely be back, and if you’re looking for a fantastic, affordable Mexican meal, I highly recommend you give this place a try!

Not happy…ridiculous amount grease got everywhere and seeped through a bag with 4 tacos (3 bacon egg & 1 sausage shouldn’t be GREASY I had to clean my car seats). For almost $3 per taco the diced bacon is not the move, you can’t enjoy a bacon and egg taco because of the huge pieces of gristle and hard fat (I threw them away. They were pretty bad, service is good.)Breakfast tacos horrible!

We are always looking for the hole in the wall. That is absolutely better than anything in the larger restaurants. This is it the whole menu is worthy of sampling

Finally! A restaurant that’s perfectly placed on my morning route to take the kids to school. Talk about convenience! Need to pump gas and grab a taco? Done. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love tacos? If you don’t, well… you might need to rethink some life choices. This is San Antonio—tacos are life!

I finally had the chance to stop in & put their taco skills to the ultimate test. See, I have a “specialty taco” I order everywhere: potato & egg with bacon & cheese. If a place can nail this, then you know they’re serious about their tacos.

Let me just say—they nailed it! The balance of fluffy potatoes, fluffy eggs, perfectly melted cheese, and that crispy, flavorful bacon? Absolute perfection. And the best part? They weren’t stingy with the ingredients! Add fast, friendly service to the mix, and this place is a gem.

I’m so excited to try more of their menu, but if this first experience is any indication, this spot is going to be a regular for me. Thank you for making mornings (and tacos) even better! Keep up the...

Imagine fat and gristle being on bacon as one reviewer complained, OMG the horror!

Now for my review. Great place, great atmosphere, great food, and great prices. There are places to eat closer to my house but I believe this is now my favorite Mexican Restaurant.

Most Mexican Restaurants will give you lots of sauce to cover their carne guisada, this place doesn't. I can clearly see the large amount of meat with my order with the right amount of sauce. On the plus side the carne guisada...
