Malibu Bagel Cafe — Restaurant in Upland

On our way to palm springs to go see REO Speedwagon who had canceled, I had exited mountain Ave as I used to live in the area, but had forgotten pretty much where everything was/is. We found rhisbplace by chance as we were looking for Jack in the box or something. The we see this place that don't ever remember seeing.

Just as soon as we [family] walked in, we were greeted with smiles. Then the problem rolled in. It seemed I had met my match with humor and wit. The ladies were both awesome.

EVENTUALLY, we got what we all ordered 3 minutes' wait. Nothing but yummy and deliciousness.

The garlic bagel with turkey and all the fixings : no mayo or mustard. This was a well prepared bagel. Crispy and fresh veggies, yummy with every bite. The wife and I split the sam-mitch. Mmmm, good. Wish we had more. My little 12 year old, after I had asked how his bagel is, he rolled his eyes back, said it was amazing. The older boy had the baked cream cheese with provolone. That was not as pleasing. Maybe it wasn't what we had imagined.

We had a long drive ahead of us. We wanted to turn around as it was not enough.

As a side note, my wife complimented the cleanliness of the restroom. This was an added bonus. There is nothing worse than a nasty restroom.

This place is clean, the staff is rocking awesome.

Wanted to try a local place out for bagels instead our grabbing some from the market. I walked in and from first interaction wasn't pleased with the customer service. I could tell the man behind the counter was working on other orders, but there was no "I'll be with you in a sec" or even a hello. I said hello and he sort of ignored me. I ordered a half dozen to try a couple flavors out. He walked away from taking my order to do like three other things. I waited while another woman bagged my bagels and they asked if I wanted cheese twice. I said no. He took my credit card and proceeded to do other things like cut another person's bagel. Which I didn't care for. Came back to charge me. I look at the receipt and they did indeed charge me for cream cheese. The store was not so packed. And I understand maybe being understaffed. But the customer service was just not there. The bagels are actually really good. Just tried the jalapeno cheese so far. But it's yummy. I might give this place another shot and update my review if...

I 1st ordered an egg and cheese bagel for breakfast because I thought they didn't have a lox bagel. soon after, I realized that they have a nova bagel and that is in fact a salmon bagel. I was was a little skeptical to order it because I've never heard of nova before. but I went up to the counter anyways, and I asked the man if it came with cream cheese, onions, tomato, and capers. he said it did so I went ahead and ordered it. he lied about the capers. it was an alright bagel.
