Paulie's Pizza Pub — Restaurant in Upland

Paulies used to be my local pizza place but I won’t be going again after our last experience today January 21, 2024.

To begin with the food isn’t the greatest I just liked coming here for the vibes and because of how close it is. The service was just awful, we felt ignored most of the time and even had to get up to ask for condiments after having already requested them multiple times before.

Halfway through our meal a mumbling homeless man approached us and asked for a slice so with no hesitation we gave him a slice. This wasn’t the annoying part, the annoying part was the servers reaction. She blamed us saying we shouldn’t have done that or else the homeless will feel entitled to loiter the restaurant and come in to bother patrons.. why as customers would we want to be bothered half way through our meal? Maybe the staff should be doing their job and not letting vagrants bother their customers.

Wow another great find!! This place is worth the travel from anywhere. This is a quaint/ cozy bar that serves terrific food and ice cold drinks. Any plate you order is picture worthy and the patrons here are happy to recommend their favorite food or drink. The owner is always ready to extend his hand for a warm handshake and the employees are cheerful and provide great service. Recommendations: It's very difficult to make a bad food order, their specialty is Italian food the pizzas are huge and delicious, the sandwiches are a sight to see and the drinks are always fresh and bubbly. Just remember, this place has a bar atmosphere plays great music and the drinks go down easily. I ordered a pepperoni pizza for pick up. Didn’t check it because previously I ordered one from here and it was delicious. When I got home and opened the pizza it was dominantly burnt. While I do enjoy a little toasty pizza this one was not it. I brought this home for dinner and my kids immediately starting commenting on how burnt it was and refusing to eat. I called Paulies to let them know and the girl answered “I checked it myself and it looked fine.” She offered to make the pizza again which is fine but I’m trying to stick to my schedule and get my kids to bed. I don’t have an extra 20-30 minutes to wait for another pizza to be cooked. I made the kids give it a try and I ate myself. I cut the roof of my mouth within a few bites.
