Read more12-26-23 Update from my original post below: I went back to see if any food improvements and I was very delighted. The pani puri was plentiful. The potato mixture was seasoned and the water was delicious. I also tried the chapli kabob which was incredibly good! It was served sizzling with sautéed onions and I ordered a roti to eat with it which was buttered and golden brown to perfection! The owners are extremely sweet and observant. They go above and beyond to make sure your food experience is a pleasant one. You must try this restaurant! Thank you to the owners!
I have been here 3 times. I wanted to like their food so bad because they are the closest Indian restaurant to my home. I usually go to 69th st or Phila for good Indian food so when this place opened I was excited. The ambiance is nice and the people are extremely nice. Sadly my food all 3 times was not that good. 1st I tried the chicken Tika Masala, the sauce was loose kind of watery and lacked the flavor of Tika Masala. I asked for spicy and it had NO SPICE in it. I also purchased pani puri. The pani puri was not that great, the potatoes mix to fill the pani puri was bland and the portion was so small it was barely enough to put into all six semolina puffs(which were mostly cracked up so it didnt hold the water). 2nd time I purchased bhel puri and a chicken wrap. The wrap and bhel puri was okay and i said to myself well i would buy the chicken wrap again. Well today i purchased 2 chicken wraps and i asked for extra spicy. The wrap had NO spicy at all. The chicken was ice cold and they put oregano on it which tasted horrible. I was so disappointed. I LOVE LOVE Indian food and I eat it every week... I guess I will continue to travel to Ekta in Philly for now. if you live in the neighborhood give them a try for yourself. They are very nice people so that should count for something. Sorry for the not so good review but...
Read moreFlavor of India offers an exceptional dining experience, serving some of the most authentic Indian cuisine I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. The menu is extensive, but a few dishes truly stand out. First, don't miss the Raita, a cooling yogurt-based side that perfectly complements the spicier dishes. The Chole Bhature, with its fluffy, golden bhature paired with flavorful chickpeas, is a must-try for anyone craving traditional North Indian comfort food. For a fun, interactive experience, the Pani Puri will transport you straight to the streets of India—crunchy, tangy, and just the right amount of spice.
For those seeking vegetarian options, Flavor of India excels with two standout dishes: the Palak Paneer and Chana Masala. The Palak Paneer is a rich and creamy spinach curry with soft, perfectly cubed paneer that melts in your mouth. The Chana Masala is hearty and packed with spices, offering a delightful depth of flavor that is both savory and aromatic. These dishes alone are reason enough to return, but the entire menu promises a culinary adventure for anyone who loves Indian food.
The atmosphere at Flavor of India is equally impressive. The dining area is spacious, comfortable, and peaceful, making it an ideal spot for any occasion, whether you're dining with family, friends, or colleagues. The service is attentive, and the quiet ambiance adds to the relaxing experience. If you're looking to explore authentic Indian flavors in a welcoming environment, this place is a must-visit. I’d rate it a...
