Famous Georges Pizzeria Pasta — Restaurant in Upper Merion Township

We have been ordering from here since 2013 when we moved to KOP. We used to live down the street but recently moved to Phoenixville. My boys love "george's famous pizza". My 5 year old son described it best tonight when he said "Georges pizza is perfect. The sauce is not too sweet and not too spicy and its always the perfect temperature to eat." Tonight we decided to order take out. After I got back to the house I realized that they forgot to the shrimp salad that I ordered. I called back and George answered. As soon as I told them my name he apologized and said they will deliver the salad to my house. I told them that I moved and now live in Phoenixville and after a brief pause Georges wife picked up the phone and said "whats your address? I'll bring your salad myself". it turns out they were short on help tonight and their delivery driver was already out on orders. Sure enough Georges wife pulls up to my house about 15 minutes later and drops the salad off. This is a wonderful family owned business that has strong roots in the KOP area. I worked at famous George as a driver and I have worked in so many other places before that but while working there I’ve noticed that everything they cook is fresh nothing frozen when I mean nothing frozen I mean reheated microwaved etc etc.... even the pasta is made fresh on the spot not refrigerated I was just speechless how much work is needed to do all these stuff and how many employees are required to Make it happen... all the cooks at famous George have been workin for him since they were teenagers and now that are grown they are turned in professional cooks when I mean professional it’s amazing.... u have to see for yourself and spend a busy day at famous George and see how good and fast these guys cook... of course there’s delivery complaints because George is now 65 plus old and when u say to someone it’s gone take 45 min and end up 1hr 1/2 of course u gone be upset... but take it from me if u were ever told it’s gone be 45 min it’s gone be at least 1 hr or 1 hr 1/2 because that’s how busy it gets there 30 years in business and still goin strong.... respect#...

Today 9/14/2024 we got a large pepperoni and a large plane pizza they both had a fair amount of sauce on them this was the best pizza I got from there in a long time and the pizza was still hot when I got it home wish it was like this all the time. It got so bad that it was like the sauce was painted on with a brush. This makes the pizza dry and also it does not stay hot because there is no sauce on the pizza I am no further than 5 miles away and when the pizza does not have much sauce on it the pizza will not stay hot in that 5 mile trip. All I am saying is the pizza doesn’t need to have so much sauce on it that the cheese will slide off but it needs enough sauce to make the pizza moist and stay hot till you get it home. I guess it all depends on who is making the pizza. Sauce can’t be that expensive that they have to paint the sauce on the dough and when it cooks it drys out and by the same way there can’t be so much sauce on there that the pizza is mushy. Georges has been in business long enough that the quality of the pizza should be the same...
