I've always had good experiences with Screwballs service and food however today my experience deserves a one star review. The server was miserable from the start. She took over five minutes just to acknowledge us and it wasn't done with a greeting. She put the menus on the table and asked what we wanted to drink. She never said hello and no joke, she never smiled throughout the entire interaction. Our drinks were served quickly but then we waited for over ten minutes, closer to 15 minutes to place our orders. There were only two tables occupied in the entire restaurant area, one being mine. The other table was being serviced by the bartender, not this server so she had one table to service which was my table. The bartender was handling the bar area like she always does so this wasn't a matter of this server working too many tables. The vibe she put out was that we were bothering her. I've never experienced this at Screwball's and I go there often, going back as far as the Fiddler's Green days. Our drinks were never refilled, we were never asked while eating if everything was okay or if we needed anything and when it came time for the bill, I had to flag her down well after we finished eating. Still no smile or effort to be friendly. Fortunately the food was good as always but when I go back to Screwball's, if she's still there I will request service from someone who wants to be there that's eager to earn a tip and not just expect it. This happened Sunday afternoon on November 6th around 2pm. Sorry it came to a negative review but this was deserved. Read moreI had ordered the cheesesteak eggrolls from here which cost me $7 and I only received 2 eggrolls on a bed of nasty shriveled up lettuce. Had I known that I was paying $7 for only 2 eggrolls I would have just ordered a sandwich, which is not only bigger but the same price. I also had ordered the Eagles cheesesteak which only lists that it comes with steak and cheese nowhere does it say that it comes with onions as well. Had I known that it came with onions I would have asked for it to be made without it as the person that got it does not like onions. When I spoke to the manager she was very rude and told me that they weren't going to do anything about it. I will never be getting food from here again and make sure that no one that I know goes here either. The food quality does not match the price it costs and the manager needs to learn better customer service. There is no reason as to why the problems that I had should have been brushed to the side and not fixed. The menu needs to be more descriptive so people know exactly what they are getting if they are not allowed to change their order if the food isn't what they expected it to be...
Read moreWaited nearly an hour for food. When it came out, I politely told the bartender I didn't want it. They compensated for the meal, as anyone should be, after you make a customer wait over 40 minutes for any order. Walked out either way. When I had met up with the people I went into the bar with earlier on, I was informed that the cook had not made the correct order, that the bartender started gossiping to the other customers in there about how much of a jerk I was. And then when the bartender gave my order to one of my friends who were there after I left, she asked them not to tell me the bar paid for my burger so that I "would feel bad" for walking out. This happened a few days ago, between 3pm when we walked in and 4 when we left. I wouldn't have minded about the food being late either if there was any sense of communication between the bartender and I. But overall, I was given a poor impression of a local bar which will most likely not go out of business due to local regulars. Hope the business...
