It was a little busy for a Sunday evening, but we were seated right away. I ordered the smaller savor sized one piece grilled chicken breast. It comes with mashed potatoes and gravy according to the menu. It was supposed to be a cheaper price than the 2 piece meal. As I ordered I pointed to the meal on the menu so the waitress would know I wanted the smaller portion. I didn't tell her the side I wanted because the menu stated it comes with mashed potatoes and gravy and I was fine with that. I also asked for wildfire bbq sauce on the side. She comes back a few minutes later and asks if I want the bone in or out. I was a bit confused since the grilled chicken there had never had bone in it. I told her I wanted the grilled chicken breast. We get the food a little while later (it always takes a while at Bob Evans) and she puts down my plate consisting of 2 fried chicken breasts, mashed potatoes and gravy, and carrots. At this point i didnt even argue because i knew it would take forever for them to make what i actually ordered and i did like the food she brought out. I did have to remind her to bring the wildfire bbq sauce. She brings it out a few minutes later, but it's not the bbq, it's the other sauce. (This is a problem with almost every bob evans i go to. They always forget to bring the sauce out with the food and when they do its usually the wrong sauce.) I remind her I wanted bbq sauce. She brings it and everything is ok. I'm wondering why they assumed my sides. I mean I ordered the one piece that comes with mashed potatoes who decided that I should also have carrots? I like the carrots but the whole experience was strange. I got charged the price for the two piece meal, whuch is ok because that is what they served me. Bob Evans really needs to train their staff to know the difference between grilled chicken and fried chicken. And to actually listen to the customer while they order. Next time i go maybe i will just tell the waitress to bring me whatever she wants, because that's what...
Read moreWe went there for Father's day. It wasn't very busy, and we had a group of ten people. Apparently, something is going on with the water in Upper Sandusky that they were not giving you glasses of water, but we're charging customers for bottles of water. Which would have cost me $7 on top of the meal. I found it weird that they were not at least offering one complementary bottle of water as it's not the customer's fault, the water was funky i mean, a case of water can cost anywhere between 3 and 4 dollars depending on where you buy it. So 2 cups of coffee sold for the day would pay for a case.. Im not quite sure how they were making the iced tea or the ice cubes. The place was maybe a third full the service was extremely slow, which is the norm at this bob evans. We did not get our silverware until the meal was almost served. I had the beef tips and they were very salty and did not taste like they were fresh like the meat was frozen. My wife was not impressed with the fries. She had. Overall, I try to be objective when I do reviews. But this once again was not a very favorable visit to this bob evans. I personally think they were profiteering on the water issue by charging for the water. The way they were yet, they were still making ice cubes coffee and tea, and not barring the fact that they were using water, probably in some of the food recipes, unless it's all prepackaged, which i'm not sure. I know in Ohio people tend to be loyal to a restaurant even if they've had some bad experiences. I get that a restaurant can have an off day every now and then. But every time we've been to this particular bob evans, there's been issues with either service , or food not being right or fully cooked. I will be very hesitant to ever come back to this...
Read moreWe order 2-3 times a week from this Bob Evans location. Never had an issue until today! Let me help any person that wants delivery from here, DONT. If you opt delivery it automatically hires door dash. Well Door Dash delivered the wrong meal. They wanted us to wait for them to switch meals from the wrong houses and deliver correct meal to us. NO WAY! Called Bob Evans because we didn’t know how door dash got involved. The manager, Stephanie explained that once the food leaves their building it has nothing to do with them. Even though our payment was made directly to Bob Evans! Stephanie explained we needed to call Door Dash for a refund. We did and Door Dash explained that we needed to call Bob Evan's corporate and gave us the number. We’ve called 3 times and their automated system won’t direct us to a person! $50 of food ordered and doesn’t look like we’re gonna get a meal from Bob Evans that gladly took said $50!!! Welp, door dash doesn’t make food! So our options were to accept food touched by gosh knows who and cold at this point, not accept the food and still had to pay for it or order again and pay for both meals. Isn’t that a lovely loophole for all involved but the customer? We did not accept the meal nor will we order or dine in at this location again. I think this location of Bob Evans should at the very least rethink their Door Dash system. There was no address on the receipt for the wrong food delivered. If Door Dash picks up several orders this obviously...
