A colossal mess! That's how it began by staff and management! My very first time at this franchise and I never even got to be served with their special selections that my sister wanted to surprise me with. There were four parties waiting to be seated and I was first to arrive. We were 3 individuals. Upon a 10-15 minute wait a young host couldn’t find a place to seat our wheel-chaired mother. My sister had to guide him completely. Waiting without a server we observed that the other parties after us had been waited upon first. Sensing some racial discrimination we stood up to call attention to a waitress. She had a confused look and asked who our server was and learning that there was none, she volunteered to order our drinks. My sisters’ recommendations were shattered as the waitress returned with the drinks but told us they did not have the items on the special menu that we were given at the door. After exchanging hellos with known mask-less guests, being tightly seated, enduring the waiting and them not having the specials plates that we came for in the first place we decided not to stay.
Not one employee offered to introduce themselves or extend any apologies. I spoke with the manager who provided no apologies, couldn’t get her employees to figure out who did what and what they were doing. Chaotically after the waitress was found she admitted that she told us no special menu offers were available. The manager said it was a miscommunication between staff and after contacting upper management on the phone but getting no answer she repeatedly blamed the miscommunication between staff.
To add insult to injury, after receiving explanation for all the mishaps, one worst on top of the other, she forced herself to acknowledge she did not have all the special menu items and went from refusing any accommodation to a discount of (later revealing $5). In other words, she figured taking the incoming tip and blaming it on the waitress would clear her own management mistakes.
A bitter taste! That's how it ended for us being insulted and disregarded. We left in total disbelieve for their display of complete incompetence. We promised it would be the last time any family member return there. We’re lifetime Uvaldians and strongly recommend this site needs a new...
Read moreLet me start of by saying that this place isn’t very welcoming .. We were a party of 3 and we all got sick from the disgusting food (food poisoning) I would be ashamed of myself if I called myself a “cook” for this establishment. The entire meal was disgusting and the food/fry's were old and cold just reheated .. the kids in the back didn’t care about their jobs and were just laughing and playing in the back (you could hear them messing around) this isn’t a dining experience this is some sleazy old bar where they serve disgusting food to drunks and creepy old men who stare at you all day while you try to “enjoy your meal” if I could have I would of walked out the door. This was a terrible experience and the portions they give is embarrassing, we had ordered chicken tenders that were almost the size of a small wing and a small portion of fry’s that were old and cold. The waiter tried his best to accommodate the embarrassing dining experience and he was ashamed himself when we asked for his name (at that point he already knew) i guess they get away with serving old scraps to drunks who wouldn’t even notice how awful the food is but we did not even a stray dog would have touched the plates. The manager tried to accommodate us but it wasn’t enough, Sad I took my mother here for her birthday we could’ve gone to Mbcdolnalds for a better overall experience. My biggest issue is the food poisoning.. How can you knowingly serve food that gets your customers sicks, that is embarrassing you’re just some sleazy old bar and not a restaurant sad to see how far Applebee’s has fallen. I will never eat at one of these restaurants again. To the kids who work here and think its a joke If you don’t like your job and don’t take pride in your work maybe you should seek other employment options and better yourselves for...
Read moreI rated 4 stars....this restaurant has 5 star potential. The food was good...just needed a minor adjustment. The onion rings tasted good but there was a bit too much grease on the plate when it came to the table. The restaurant was clean, but also needed a couple minor changes. The front door had fingerprints all over the glass...not a good first impression. There were napkins on the floor, and employees walking by them were not picking them up. The background music needs to be something everyone would enjoy while dining. Finally, the service was poor. Our hostess was nice and seated us promptly. She took our order and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. After that it was downhill with the wheels off. We didn't know who our server was because no one checked on us. There were five servers dabbing in a booth together, and midway through the meal, I had to walk over to them because they were not paying attention.... It may sound like I'm being overly critical, But I believe when I am spending my hard earned money dining out, I am paying for the entire experience, not just the food. My advice to Applebee's is to streamline the service. People vote with their feet...they may not complain or submit a review...they may not...
