Golden Chick — Restaurant in Uvalde

I used to live here almost 30 years ago, so this restaurant wasn’t here then. I went thru drive thru . The young lady was very sweet and helpful since I had never been there before. After ordering my chicken dinner she asks I’m ok with to wait a few minutes for the chicken to made fresh. I said absolutely! I Pulled forward and a young , friendly cook brought it out a few minutes later and apologized for the extra time , and I said “ no problem “ I will totally wait for fresh fried chicken “ haha

Anyway, it all was so fresh and delicious! Chicken was crispy and fried perfectly. The okra was awesome, and the green beans too! And I appreciate the container that they put my food in, with a matching lid that had separate compartments, That was a really good surprise that I wish other diners would do!

I live out of town and went through the drive-thru today to pick up their wonderful chicken salad and yeast rolls for lunch. I was greeted with cheerful service. I also ordered a garden salad, but when I got home the garden salad was missing. I called to see if they could just take it off the credit card (honestly, we all make mistakes once in a while), but they insisted on delivering the salad to me. At lunch rush. On a Saturday. And it was in my hands a mere 10 minutes later. Wow! THAT is seriously going above and beyond the call of duty. I don't know another place in town with service like that. Very much appreciated. I tried to order pizza from Dominoes and Pizza Hut and from Subway in your community to send food to your police department after this horrible incident. They would not do anything on prices to help feed the staff that had to deal with this terrible situation. They didn't care. I called Golden Chick and they went over and above what they had to do. I was calling from Wyoming. I'm just sick about what has happened to your community. I got a call from the police department that they received my order. Golden Chick was happy to take my money and deliver more than I expected. The police were greatful to get it. Please spend your money at...
