I’m a third generation Vietnamese man and I grew up on my grandma’s delicious Pho and food. I’ve been to Vietnam and I live in Houston where there’s a Pho place on every other corner and I’ve had the best of the best. When I searched good food in Uvalde, Pho Long came up and I was so surprised! I’ve been coming here for 20+ years and it makes me so happy to find my culture in one place. Restaurant currently allows to-go only. The food is mediocre; good enough since you aren’t able to cook these broths at home easily.

My biggest complaint is how the male shop owner has a very long right pinky nail. A good 1-2 inch, while his other nails are normal length. I’m Vietnamese myself and understand that it can be about your feng shui/filial piety/chi, but I’ve also heard that it could just be specialized for picking your nose.

It’s a true mom-and-pop restaurant. I guess for now, it’s only take-away service. The son took our order, grandpa kept a watchful eye on his grandson, and grandma delivered our food with the sweetest smile. The food is incredibly flavorful and authentic—clearly made with love.
