Stopped by here for my first time as I was working in the area today. I work all over Northern California and eat phő In as many places as I possibly can
I ordered the number eight and was not disappointed. The tendon was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth and the broth was one of the best that I've ever had. Definitely in the top five of all time. They don't skip on the herbs and bean sprouts either. In terms of the tendon, it is surprising how many other restaurants will serve tendon that is hard and unpleasant to eat.
The service here was fast, attentive (my water was filled consistently right before I ran out).
The atmosphere is exactly what you would expect out of a hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant and I love that.
Do yourself a favor and try the chili oil/chili crisp. It is mildly spicy and has what I think is a bit of lemongrass in the background which is a nice touch if you add it to your soup.
I highly recommend you at least try the phő. I can't speak for any of the other dishes on the menu, but if they as well executed as the phő, you...

There are 2 phenomenal sources for pho within 30 minutes of my house (and I live in the Bay Area so I have lots to choose from). This is one of them, and they have the best service. Additionally, they have a comprehensive menu. If you're outside culture, they still take time to explain and accommodate if needed. I do recommend sticking to the menu, however. There is plenty to choose from. This is an excellent restaurant if you have any hesitancy about exploring new foods but want to do so. Their menus have pictures, and they can tone down or up the flavor profile or spice. Sometimes meals come deconstructed, and they will take the time to tell you how to eat it if you respectfully ask. These are chefs, not cooks. Treat this family with the respect they have earned.
I am not from the culture, so I don't know the dining experience of those that are, however the atmosphere suggests this restaurant and family have struck the delicate balance of being truly welcoming to all who come while staying faithful to their recipes and...
Read moreNot sure if it was just a bad day or what. Seeing the reviews, I tried this place out while staying in town. It seemed promising. I got pho chin and bun thit nuong. I didn’t like either of them. The pho broth was dark brown and a bit cloudy, not a good sign of quality. It had a funny taste, like pepper or something. Can’t place it. It was just off.
The bun thit nuong was off too. Meat was very low quality, chewy and fatty. My husband got bun bo nuong with cha gio and he didn’t like his either. He only took a few bites. The cha gio was not good. He gave it to me and I didn’t like it either.
I felt bad, so I tried to eat as much of it as I could. I couldn’t eat the thit nuong at all. Kind of bummed, because it had been a few months since I’ve had Vietnamese and I missed it. Usually, if a place isn’t good, I can still eat it just fine, and say it was whatever. Ok but not great. This is the first Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to where I would say it was bad. So disappointing because I was...
