I've done a lot of BBQ, even some traveling team competitions. This place is really good.
I just tried Dalie's with my parents tonight. All of the meat was on point, just cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly. Dad and I got the pulled pork (I got the sandwich, he got the plate) and mom got the half-rack of ribs. She thought she was going to have leftovers, but she didn't. Dad and I didn't think we would have leftovers, but we did.
The ribs mom got were the exact way you want a good BBQ place to cook them, not fall-off-the-bone, but tender with a (small) bit of tug. The pulled pork was really tasty, tender, and un-sauced, because they have about 6 different styles of sauce you can add yourself, sitting on the table. I like the 'Hope' sauce best, but it's a variety of options.
Sides: Fries were very good (both regular and sweet potato), cole slaw was unique and amazing. Mom didn't care for the tomato-cucumber salad, but it wasn't bad. I think she was just expecting something else.
They were out of a few items when we walked in the door, which I expect from a good BBQ place: The good places make things fresh every day and can run out, less quality places sometimes serve yesterday's leftovers. I hear the peach cobbler is amazing, but I'l have to come back to try it, because they were out. (once again, I expect a good BBQ joint to 86 things as they go, no big disappointment)
Staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Atmosphere was, at our table, a bit on the warm and humid side, but that happens sometimes.
Prices: Reasonable, for the portion size and quality. Actually, very reasonable.
Overall, I would highly recommend checking the place out if you are in the mood for some good BBQ. I'm going to go back, and I will recommend...
Read moreFirst of all we are regular customers order large orders 4-5 times a year and then also eat at the restaurant. I am very dissatisfied with the communication on not taking orders over the phone today (Friday) I called on Thursday at 4:30 and spoke with Sara, I was going to place my order then but told Sara if it was easier for me to call in the morning I would so I didn't keep her. I called at 10:45 am on Friday and was told "I am not taking online orders over the phone " and asked even if I pay ahead of time, the lady just simple repeated herself like a robot I am not taking any orders over the phone. So I drove down to the restaurant at 11;00 am placed my order over $250.00 and then was told you can't pick it up later in the afternoon which is when I needed it I had to take i then. So I waited what choice did I have, they handed me my large order, offered no help to carry out and the bag was heavy. So now my food has to sit in my oven for over 5 hours until dinner. Disappointed in the customer service, inconveniencing your customers because you can't figure out a system to make sure you have enough food makes no sense to me. To top off this review they forgot one of my sides. I am not even bothering with making them aware because I guess when you are a popular restaurant who cares if a customer is upset because you have plenty. I won't be dining here or ordering anymore. We roughly spend more than $1000.00 there in a year. Suggestion: Why don't you put on your website ahead of time that you won't be taking any phone in orders, or when a customer calls the day before you decide to put this in place your staff communicates that, is that...
Read moreI hate to give this place such a low review because it really is a great place for bbq. But our latest experience there was mixed. It started out fine and we had a tasty lunch. Terrific bbq! And they have smoked ham which is super hard to find in a bbq joint around here. But even more rare is the smoked jackfruit for us vegan folks! Yay! So 5+ stars for the food! (But be prepared for unusual sweet potato fries - they put sugar on them instead of salt. Sugar on a baked sweet -sure; but sugar on sweet fries - yuck. Took them home to the kids, who loved them.) Anyway, as we were finishing lunch, we were asked to leave. We are three seniors, having a meal in quiet conversation. What! We were shocked. The lady said that she was expecting a table of five and needed the table, and that she was sorry to do this. Then she asked two older guys at the table next to us. I don't know if she had relatives coming or what, but we have never had that happen before (and we're old). I have relatives in the restaurant business, and know you never do that unless someone is being really obnoxious. Even if customers come in shortly before closing time, they are always seated and served. This was lunchtime, after the lunch rush. There were empty tables too, although high-tops. That was so rude. Inexcusable. As much as we would love to have another bbq meal here, we are going elsewhere next time where they...
