Had an awful experience a couple weeks ago. We went in and ordered our food as we were about to pay we were told that what my wife ordered wasn’t available. That is usually the only thing she gets so she was caught off guard. She asked the girl at the counter what kind of sandwich the “turkey, bacon, and cheese” was. The girl snuggly replies, “umm it’s turkey, bacon and cheese.” Then proceeds to laugh and another customer waiting at the counter also started laughing. It embarrassed my wife a lot and it really upset us both. Obviously that is whats on the sandwich but what kind of bread? What kind of sauce? Do any veggies come on it? She asked mostly because she can’t eat pork so she wasn’t going to include the bacon. You’d think the workers would know what the menu includes. To laugh in a customers face when asked a basic question then to also have another guest get involved isn’t great. The girl looked about 16 and was probably her first job but that isn’t the point really. My wife just decided to not get anything at all and paid because she was upset and embarrassed. I said screw that so we canceled our order. I’ve only been here a couple times and I’ve never really been impressed. But for her and our kids it’s been a tradition, as they have been going for years on the last day of school. They have always loved it and the last experience absolutely ruined it for her. We will never be going back and spending our money. Really unfortunate way to run...

My family and I came in this afternoon (about 3:30 PM) to get some chocolate sodas and shakes. Upon placing our order, our cashier asked her manager how to enter this order in. Her manager then began to berate her and her coworker, telling them they should have been trained properly, all the while doing everything but training them himself. Our cashier needed quarters in order to give our change back, the manager told her rudely to wait and again told her that she needed better training, which was unwarranted. Both younger employees were visibly affected by his behavior, which continued after our order was fulfilled. Your manager needs some corrective action, as both of the employees did their best to help us and showed us excellent customer service. I am leaving this one star review because I will not have my kids thinking that this is how they should expect to be treated when they enter the workforce. Contact me when you have corrected your manager's behavior and compensated your affected employees and I will change my...

My experience here was completely horrible! 3 of us ladies came here to eat and all experienced something bad. One of my co-workers was waiting on her soda for over 5 mins then was told she has didnt give it to her because she just walked away, when she was clearly standing there the whole time and the lady forgot and started taking the next order. Then as were waiting 20 mins for our food the 3 people who ordered after us, all 3 got their food before us because their regulars! So finally as our food was up we watched the lady behind the counter ,set the food on the table and dropped a fry and we watched her put it back on pur tray while not even wearing gloves!. Lastly as were walking out the lady almost walked into me not paying attention, which was okay since she said sorry, but before i even made it out the door shes behind the counter talking to the other worker about me and i hear them say "they just expect you to get out there way"! Next time atleast wait till i get out the restaurant first before you talk...

Young's is a neat, simple, and retro eatery tucked back behind a gas station in Valley Park. The prices are really, really cheap given that you are getting fresh, home-cooked grub. I loved the fried chicken and mashed potatoes, with only the green beans being slightly average. The two folks I was with also loved their chili dog and cheeseburger, both with fries. We didn't indulge in any ice cream but they have a full offering and I am sure it is delicious. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall, local joint worth checking out. Update: Young's has since become a favorite for our friends and my first 4-star review was insufficient. The catfish platter is amazing, and folks we go with continue to rave about the friend chicken, burgers, and yes, the ice cream!

Three of us went here specifically to get ice cream. I got a concrete, it was fine my complaint would be that it only filled the cup 3/4 full. Another person ordered a regular cone and they said it was a typical cone. The third person got a dip cone, the chocolate coating was so thin you could still see the ice cream underneath it, they could not taste the chocolate like other store dip cones. Prices for these items were higher than what we pay at other shops. Probably wont go back, but it had a nice vintage atmosphere. Please like the review so I know if this helped someone.

This place always brings back childhood for me. My mom would take us here as a treat or we'd come after baseball games. The burgers are "smashed" style on the griddle, super tasty. Their fried chicken is always super hot and fresh, and they have a bunch of fresh fish options as well. Arguably, the best part is their ice cream. I always go with the concrete, it's the best in STL. Yep, I went there. Get in here and fill up the tank, it's delicious food and super friendly people. Mr. Young will be happy to talk to you if you chat him up.
