We went last night with a group of 5 to celebrate daughter's 20th Birthday. Parked in parking lot which is shared with Lockkeepers and when we came in the one door it was by bathrooms which was a little strange as another woman with her children ahead of us thought as well just so you know. There is a front entrance we saw after and believe you have to walk around building for that.
The decor is a bit retro like a 60's restaurant and a counter you can eat at. Overall not bad looking and there is a covered outdoor seating as well but we chose inside, I did notice one of the bench seats nearby had a huge tear in seat and should be repaired.
Where we sat there were some overhead ceiling fans which made my wife a little chilly, also not great because it blew napkins off the table and made the food get cold fast. I forgot to ask if they could turn them down a little.
Now as far as food it was delicious for the most part and review is based on what appeared to be a full wait and kitchen staff as food came quickly with a half full restaurant during 6pm hour. Our waitress Christina was friendly.
We had 5 adults and three had burgers and they were asked how they wanted them cooked? One was a little pink, food safety requires all burgers to be cooked to 155-160˚and probably shouldn't be pink because of the risk for ecoli, only steak should be left pink. One of our kids had onion rings as a side and it includes 3, one large and two small, not really great for the price plus she never got the second order I found out after. Another had the Reuben burger and he said it was tasty.
My wife had a burger with Gluten free bun and it was good.
I had general Tso's chicken with Saffron rice and it was perfect. I suggest getting the asian vegetables as one of your sides and my other was a salad which was big enough for two people, the salad also came halfway through my meal which was an oversight.
Soup of the day was the clam chowder that my son-in-law and I had which had a good taste but a tad watery, should have been a thicker base.
The price for 5 was really good as no one had any alcohol.
Bathrooms were just ok, the mens had a slight smell to it and the stall had rust on bottom panel next to the urinal, made it look like an old truck stop bathroom. We may try again when we are back on our...
Read moreGreat diner style restaurant thankfully still operating and open early in the area that I was able to grab breakfast in before heading out for the day.
Since it was a Friday, you can order day-specific fish specialties - I forget exact name but it was a fish sandwich and I opted for Mac and cheese as the side.
It was a bit busy when I came in but there was still plenty of seating for anyone who came, (so this place is definitely larger than expected).
There is also a small below main level parking lot directly under the restaurant (recommend for any rainy day travelers or to keep your car a bit cooler from the sun).
Food was served within reasonable time and the wait staff were friendly but also very on-the-go quick pace. So it was very normal for them to forget the tar tar sauce for the sandwich (which I asked for at the next earliest convenience of the wait staff).
I also got a brownie hot fudge sundae for dessert. I think I got one of the more dried out pieces (it comes with two brownie triangles) but it makes sense since who orders a brownie sundae first thing in the morning? Only me. 🤭
I just let it soak in the melting vanilla ice cream and it was fine. Equally delicious as the other piece of brownie. 😊
I used to order chicken tenders with honey mustard and Notso fries here many years back. I will have to return to try and get those next time if it's still on the menu (forgot to check since I...
Read moreThis may be the weirdest review but here goes, I have never eaten here but gave you a 5 star review. I'm sure it will stay. I was looking at places to visit and eat for my business trip next month and got pretty annoyed when I couldn't find anything appealing. Then, I clicked something and YOURS TRULY popped up. :) I am so impressed with the restaurant and want to eat everything on your menu. I'm not a restaurant critic but noticed something that might sound weird...the fried food was a light golden color which means that you use clean oil/grease and you don't over cook your food. I know, some ppl are reading this and thinking I'm crazy but I promise I am not. I've gotten dark to almost black looking fries or fingers in other places and it tasted like burned food. We aren't visiting from too far, just Buffalo, Ny and can eat anywhere but chose YOURS TRULY. We were going to "settle" at another place because we couldn't find anything that was appealing and or clean. Plus, the restaurant looks beautiful and being a Buffalo Pin Up, I just love love LOVE the decor as well. Everything looked delightful and I can't wait to stop in. We'll be there for two days. I'm sure I won't be disappointed and am now craving a root beer float and the Barcelona Signature Omelette or anything from your burger bar. Have a glorious day and we'll...
