Quaker Steak & Lube — Restaurant in Valley View

August 2023 Oof. The Patio and our Server were a joke.

Outside, they've got speakers . . . that they aren't on. They've got tv's . . . that aren't on. They've got a full outdoor bar . . . that is unstocked and unstaffed. They've got teenagers hanging out without having ordered anything, tables that need touchup paint, a fly problem, a lack of menus, and a serious need to pressure wash the filth and literal utility spray-paint off of the concrete.

When our server (who was the human personification of "the lights are on but nobody is home") asked us for our drinks, he told us they are out of wine. My girlfriend went inside and got a glass from herself from the bar with no issue. A buddy asked if they have any Pilsners and the server had never heard of them. It took him an hour and a half to bring me 2 drinks. We had every intention of dining in, but we asked for the check 3 times and left. We watched him walk in and out 5 times before we got them. Unacceptable.

The General Manager (PJ) replied to my Google Review and asked me to call him. We just talked for 10 minutes. Within 30 seconds of talking to him, I could tell that he "Gets It" and gives a $h!t. He knew exactly who I was talking about before he even saw the name on the slip. He just got transferred from another district, agrees with my points to improve, and knows the kind of housekeeping they have to do. It's not gonna happen overnight, but he knows the direction they need. I will return in a few months to give them another chance.

October 2023 Welp, decided to give them another chance since it has been a few months and gotta say, we were not impressed.

The patio still needs pressure washed and the tables and chairs are still missing paint.

Inside, the floor is so sticky that it makes noise when you walk. I don't know if that's the cleaner they use or if it is just filthy. The windows and blinder were super gross too. They even brought us a wine glass that was dirty.

The manager/bartender seemed nice and so was our waitress.

The mozzarella sticks were good and they give you a reasonable amount of warm marina which is always appreciated. Their fries are actually seasoned which is another win. I meant to ask for my wings to be cooked Extra Crispy because too many places are serving pick chicken wings 🤢. Luckily, these ones were cooked all the way through without me having to ask for it. The wings were actually a great size too. It was a struggle to finish 10. The Boneless Chicken Wrap wasn't very good. I just wasn't a fan of the style of BBQ sauce it came with. By the time we got through the first half, the second half was a soggy diaper :(

-Go back to acting like a small, private franchise. Hire competent staff, over 21. Make sure people taking your order know what you are ordering from them. Also teach them to check an order when it's up so they bring what the customer ordered. -We ordered the 24 wings, all drums, half with sauce, half plain, 1 extra sauce on the side, ranch only, no celery. My 7 year old only eats plain. None of us like the flappers. For a wing place, this is like asking for a cheese pizza, extra cheese on the whole pie, half with mushrooms, half with pepperoni. -They brought me a bucket of drums, both sauced but divided in the middle with blue cheese and celery plus 2 extra sauces on the side. She kind of smiled and shoved them at me and started to walk away. I stopped her and told her image order wasn't right. Sorry, 28.00 for 25 chicken wings, the order should be perfect, like it has been since I first went in 1997. -They said they'd fix it and to give them a minute. 15 minutes later the same girl brought me a bucket of drums and flappers but this time with ranch, still a pile of celery, no sauce on the side. At this point, you'd think the 18 year old taking my order for premium wings at a very premium price would feel really concerned and a little uncomfortable. Nope, not an an 18 year old who "Oh, I didn't really know. Like, I don't eat those things. -So another 10 minutes passed by and someone went to get a manager but they never came. 5 minutes after that, the girl brings out the wings, order was correct and they were covered in what looked like orange paint because they were tossed after they had sat in a bin and got cold. -had we not had company in town, craving these wings, I would have sent them back and called the next day but not with company around. So, I took my cold wings from the 18 year old girl that doesn't "eat those things" and kept the bucket of the 2nd messed up order and went home. What a let down after not going there for a few years. We got there and seated at 4:45pm with no wait time!! :) Not to busy for a Thursday night. The waitress was not good at all. She didn't serve us our apitizer or food. Some one else had to. Also when she finally came by to check on us after 15 mins of being served my mother didn't have her salad and my husband was missing his sampler order of bone in wings for our dinner. We also had 2 knives and 4 silverware for 5 people. We waited to eat our dinner except our 8 yr old son who was starving because the food took so incredibly long to get to us. My dad's food was almost cold by the time they got it to him and was cold by the time my mom and husband got thier food. I wasn't about to ask for new food for myself to wait longer for eating. We didn't have that kind of time. My dad got new boneless wings and we didn't pay extra. Also we had to ask for water and pop refills and only had it once. we were not well taken care of at all. Also we needed the check and our waitress had yet again dispersed into the kitchen again for 100 years. We also had to flag another waitress to get ours. We asked our lady to get us 4 boxes and the check. She came back with the check and 3 boxes and tryed to walk away again. My husband was not having that at all and made her take care of it all. We waited long enough all night! Also the tabel across from us had such lousy service that the guys had to walk over to the bar to get pop refils and order thier beers. They weren't happy either with her and neather was any one else who had her. Were glad the food was good when we did finally get it but the service was beyond horrid!!! The waitress is lucky she got about a 10% tip because with her lousy aditude and poor service she should count her self lucky. I honestly don't want to go back if this is the way it will be.
