El Lorito Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Van Buren

The rudest customer service I've ever experienced, even with a language barrier. I ordered to go, with the hostess whom was very disorganized (she kept trying to give me someone else's debit card even after I told her multiple times it was not mine, and didn't seem to listen or understand when I asked if there were utensils in the bag) and not understanding English very well apparently. When I looked at my order (it was supposed to be the Create Your Own Combo with 3 items), it was completed with the wrong sauce and missing beans and rice, which I had mentioned to the hostess at the time of ordering. I called and was told it would be corrected. I get there, and they didn't add the beans and rice because it was not part of the combo, which I was not aware of, even after mentioning it. I was told they would not fill it because I did not pay for it, even though I had. They also kept talking back and forth in Spanish with each other, which I find extremely disrespectful and rude to do with a customer anyway.

I will NEVER come here again, and would even discourage anyone from doing so. With a primary English speaking clientele, they should have someone who can understand and speak the language. I normally don't mind if someone working doesn't speak English that well, but today really...

I usually have a really good time here, I guess it was just an off day.. I got the chimmychanga and it was.. so. greasy. I'm not talking about a tiny bit of grease, it was so greasy I couldn't continue eating it (I'm usually not a karen about that stuff) and it made me sick. The grease pooled all over my plate and it was horrible, I wish I had taken a picture because it was unbelievably funny how greasy this little thing was. There was a boy that was serving that kept hanging around my table and kind of staring at me which made me uncomfortable as well (he wasn't our server, nor did he have anyone around us to serve) The chips and salsa were really good though, and our waitress was very sweet. I think they were all a little bored though, because I caught on to what they were saying and it wasnt very nice. It was really expensive for what we got, especially with the quality of it. Also I didn't know that they charged for refills, but thats okay, my fault for not looking at the menu correctly. I think the one by the hospital is better, we just went to this one because it was busy at the other one. Regret that decision as my stomach is hurting from the greasy food they...

I've found the holy grail of Mexican restaurants in Arkansas! 🏆 Had the steak Mexrrito came with mushrooms and grilled onions and topped with cheese sauce. Came with rice on the side, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole 🥑 and oh my gosh the flavor was SO GOOD! Everything was good, chips came hot and were crispy with fresh flavor and the salsa was fabulous, perfect flavor mix of tomato cilantro, Chiles and garlic, so yummy! I normally only eat half of my plate of food but I finished the entire plate of food, fabulous! Not one thing to do to improve it. Go eat here, you won't be disappointed! It's fabulous. 10/10

5/14/23 update - Made our second visit to this restaurant, on mother's day for lunch. Excellent service, excellent food! Had the mexirrito steak burrito,again, came with beans onion bell pepper mushrooms super yummy, had lettuce, guacamole, sour cream and pico de Gallo on the side and also came with rice on the plate. We also decided to get a poblano Chile Ala carte, everything was delicious! Flavor heaven, 10/10
