October 2020 edit: All of the below was my initial review from nine months ago, but subsequent visits have forced me to revise my rating and review. I want to like the place, but it has proved disappointing. They have not really fixed most of the issues I identified in my initial review. The place still looks the same. The menu has improved, now with explanations of what comes with each bowl, but is rife with typographical or spelling errors. The service is poor, I think largely because they seem to be understaffed. When my family went for dinner this evening, there appeared to be one server and one cook handling several tables and multiple delivery orders. As a result our food took much longer than it should have to hit our table, reasonable requests we made took much longer than they should have, service felt inattentive, etc. The sever and cook who were working seemed to be doing their best, but they needed more help.
This place earns five stars from me because the food is really great, and I can overlook its few flaws given how new it is. My family dropped in for dinner tonight and ordered a couple bowls of ramen and an assortment of appetizers. We had the potato croquettes, gyoza, and pork buns. All appeared to be made from scratch and all were very tasty. Our ramen bowls included the garlic tonkotsu and miso ramens. The portions were generous, the ingredients high quality, and the broths nuanced and delicious. The food is what they are really getting right here, which is encouraging for a new place.
Other aspects of the restaurant need some work, however. The space itself appears to be not entirely finished. They have some more decorating to do; what appears to be a bar area is unfinished; and the prep and storage area of the kitchen is completely open to the dining area, but not in a fun/open concept way. The sign out front says “Fujiya Ramen” but the employees’ uniforms and my receipt said “Ramen Street.” The menu is probably the aspect of the restaurant most in need of further development. They list several different types of ramen, displaying their names only (tonkotsu, miso, tan tan, etc) but give no indication of what each type tastes like orwhat it comes with (vegetables, chashu, egg, etc). For the occasional ramen eater, a description of what each type tastes like would aid selection greatly. And for anyone, knowing what is included is really essential information. In addition, most ramen places have a list of items one can add to their ramen for a price, but the menu here lacks anything like that. Finally, while the service was very polite, friendly, and attentive, it was mildly awkward at times and our server seemed less than intimately familiar with the menu. I’m sure that will improve with time, however.
In general I was pleased and will be back for further visits. I think they are doing pretty well given how recently they opened, but to keep my five star rating they will have to improve in the coming...
Read moreThe ramen here is delicious! I will have to come back and try all the other flavors. I ordered the Garlic Tonkatsu and it comes with pork belly and egg. The garlic was not overpowering at all and was just right.
This place is going to grow into a really hot spot once they are settled for a bit. All of the staff were friendly, attentive, and helped with the menu even giving some suggestions. I got my food in less than 10 minutes and they checked on me for water several times. The utensils are nice as they gave you a ladle like spoon to help drink the broth (I still picked it up and slurped lol).
There was plenty of seating, mostly 4 tops and loads of bar seating.
I would have really liked to see a condiment tray with hot sauces, chili oil, and salt/pepper. While the prices are already reasonable and you get good value, I would have liked to see a lunch special or happy hour for the appetizers or something.
They mentioned that alcohol is on the way this February but they have soda available.

Read moreFirst I did order my meal online through google times pick up. Once handed My order the waiter had the liquid of the two ramens placed on the bottom of the bag, noodles on top of that and everything else, this caused the condensation of the hot broth in the plastic to weaken the strength of the bottom paper bag, after the short 7 min drive it was from the restraunt to my holiday inn express and suites in camas, I grabbed the bag to have the contents inside fall on the ground. I barely saved half the meal... only to find I ordered the shrimp tempura and received no dipping sauce, only 6 pieces and 2 onions rings when their menu clearly on google and else where says (8) pieces when you click on it... the only thing I have to say that was delicious was the pork buns. I didnt call to complain as they looked to be struggling with only one waiter and one cook, I waited 15 minutes to pick up my online ordered and ready prepared food. I'd love to give them another try, just a bummer this was my first experience...
