La Cava del Norte — Restaurant in Vega Baja

They cooked me a perfect churrasco at 9 in the morning. The place is both very cool and uniquely Puerto Rican. It's a bakery, has a large selection of wines and liquors displayed in an almost hipster way which it pulls off because it's actually authentic and unironic. It also has soups of the day, fresh squeezed orange juice and cheeses/cured meats for sale. Overpriced for what you get. A normal bakery will get you better food and service. The liquor and wines are overpriced as well. For the price, I would expect a clean area, great service, clean utensils... not in here. The area is dusty with aged furniture. I was handed a dirty disposable spoon. The spoon was in an open dispenser that collects all the dust from the environment of the store.

Wow. The outside sure does not tell the whole story. This place is absolutely amazing. You walk in and there is a fantastic selection of wines and liquors. They also serve hot food and coffee. They have cheeses and meats as well. I had a soup and it was amazing. In the back there is a small room with more wines. I would enjoy having some wine here one night. I will update my review...
