Poco Loco — Restaurant in Vega Baja

This place gets 5 stars because this place is awesome! Will start out by saying that we came to the area from Connecticut/NY area to visit family for 7 days and ended up coming here 5 times while visiting! This place checks all the boxes from great service to great ambiance and atmosphere to of course excellent food and drinks. The food is what sets this place apart, everything we had from the tacos to the ceviche to the stuffed avocado's were amazing. It is also a plus that they have a diverse selection of drinks including a selection of local beers and craft beers. They had Ocean Lab beer on tap which you have to try if you love beer!! The staff was also very attentive and accommodating. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for some good eats and a good time...have the stuffed avocados they...

We stayed in Vega Baja for a week in March of ‘22. Were from Illinois. Lemme just say.. this was our favorite place to eat the entire vacation. The staff was great & friendly, the prices were awesome, the FOOD was soo good! We got fajitas, steak burrito, different kinds of tacos and for desert 3 churros and cheesecake frito. It was bogo margaritas (2 for $10 BEST Margs ever!) ( we went there on a Sat not sure if a special or not) and $1 tequila shots. For 6 of us and getting more than we needed we spent about $160 but we also had 6 adults. We still talk about the place! FYI- like most places menu is in Spanish take a pic with google translate and it shows you in English. Genius....

Hoy visité Poco Loco en Vega Baja y, al principio, todo apuntaba a una muy buena experiencia. Llegamos, nos recibieron con rapidez, el lugar se veía limpio y agradable. Nos atendió Aleymi, una mesera excelente: amable, atenta, con sugerencias acertadas y un trato que de verdad hace sentir al cliente bienvenido. Esa parte, impecable.

Sin embargo, la experiencia cambió por completo con un detalle que para mí es muy importante: el queso fundido con chorizo. Al recibirlo, noté que estaba completamente pegado al fondo del recipiente y quemado. No era un dorado apetitoso ni un toque ahumado: era literalmente quemado y con sabor amargo. Con mi experiencia como consumidor frecuente de comida mexicana, sé perfectamente cómo debe servirse este plato, y así no es.

Aline, muy profesional, buscó ayudar y llamó a otra empleada, Atabei. Y aquí es donde todo se dañó. Desde el primer momento su actitud fue defensiva, con un tono arrogante, intentando convencerme de que “así es el queso fundido” y que “se quema”. No fue un diálogo abierto ni una intención de solucionar el problema, sino una postura de “yo sé y tú no sabes”, lo cual me hizo sentir como si mi opinión no valiera nada, como si fuera un ignorante en el tema.

Yo entiendo perfectamente que el cliente no siempre tiene la razón. Pero un buen servicio se basa en escuchar, observar y buscar una solución cuando el problema es visible y evidente. No se trata de ganar una discusión, sino de que el cliente se sienta respetado y valorado.

Al final, no pude disfrutar el plato y me quedé con la sensación de que mi visita, que pudo haber sido excelente, se arruinó por una mala actitud. Tal vez para ellos soy solo un cliente más, pero en cualquier negocio, un cliente vale lo mismo que mil. Es una pena que un servicio tan bueno como el de Aleymi se vea opacado por la falta de empatía y profesionalismo de otra persona.
