NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! The manager was horribly wrong and extremely rude and combative. As a person with a disability that prevents me from entering the building, we sat outside at the tables further from the door opening in the covered area. There was not anyone sitting in that area and the tables were all empty. There was a couple sitting on the other side who had a dog. I love dogs, I’m just extremely allergic to them so I sat outside in the area that had no other people sitting around away from the dog. I had to order the food to go before getting there because I cannot go into the building because of my disability. My teenager went inside with my card and paid to retrieve her order. We didn’t know this place had an outside eating area when we ordered on the way home as we hadn’t been here before. We thought it was nice that we could sit outside while my teenager could get something to eat as she had just had blood drawn at the quest nearby and needed food to prevent from passing out. I asked my teenager for the receipt and noticed she didn’t tip the waitress so I asked one of the waitresses that was outside passing by if I could add the tip to the receipt and she was very nice and said sure that she would take it on since I could not go inside because of my disability. I put a $4 tip on a $9 order and the waitress said we were fine there.
We have the food and the order is wrong. We ordered a chocolate chip pancake with whip cream on top and strawberries on the side. My daughter decided to just eat it anyways because she needed to get food in her even though it wasn’t what we ordered. Before she coould start eating, suddenly a very angry woman comes out and starts immediately raising her voice saying that we need to leave and cannot be sitting there and that it’s for paying customers that are dine-in. She said this is a busy area and you need to leave. There was nobody sitting in the area we were sitting and nobody’s standing there waiting to sit. I tried explaining to the waitress/manager lady that was very hostile towards me that I had a disability and the situation but she just kept screaming at me to shut up and listen to her and that I needed to leave. I told her that we would leave and never come back. She was yelling across the parking lot from the restaurant at us trying to make it like it look to the other people with the dog that it was us that was the problem. She was yelling that we could have sat on the side of the building which was by the dog that I’m allergic to. I would never ask someone to leave with their dog from their table that was there before me so I could sit there so we left. The manager wouldn’t take a moment to pause from her yelling to have a normal conversation. She was very angry and aggressive! We were very quietly sitting there, just me and my daughter, I even tipped higher on the order just to have this horrible woman come yell at us and treat us like we were the scum of the earth. The way she treated us was as if we were vagrants sitting there begging people for money. We Will NEVER GO HERE! The owner needs to fire this woman before we will ever even consider going there again or recommending it. You just don’t treat people that way. You do not treat paying customers that way and sure don’t treat people with physical...
Read moreI can agree with the other good reviews about the food. Haven't had anything we didn't enjoy. I have two things that i feel are important though.
I feel like you can judge a restaurant by their biscuits & gravy 😁 So #1 is the "Country Benedict" vs the "Tennessee Mountain Biscuit with Sausage Gravy". I ordered the Benedict version the 1st time. While eating it i realized there is nothing benedict about it unfortunately. The next time i ordered the b&g thinking it would be ample with it's "jumbo" biscuit. Wa wa wa. I guess i should have known from it being less expensive that it was less food. So i take issue with both of those being on the menu. They are very yummy, but it felt like someone was playing a practical joke on me.
#2 is the tiny coffee cups. I hadn't slept well the night before so REALLY needed coffee. I finished my 1st cup before i realized it & got it prepped for the refill. & Waited. & Asked. & Waited. & Ate my food. & Asked. & Waited. Mind u, employees are passing me left & right. I was told they would let my waitress know... The place was nearly full but nobody making the rounds with a pot of coffee. I finally got my 2nd cup, but didn't enjoy my breakfast because of the lack of coffee. I almost immediately asked for a 3rd refill (remember the cups are tiny) & it was the same thing all over again. If i could have put the cup on my head for attention i would have. Now, they do have larger cups. I saw one on a table, they had had hot chocolate. The amount of coffee i drank made me think about when unlimited coffee was $0.50. Here they are charging almost $4 & i had to beg for what rightly would be my 1 cup of coffee at home. So i definitely will be drinking coffee before i go for breakfast from now on.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy this restaurant. They have wonderful home fries that are made from red potatoes even (our 2nd good restaurant tell). But to be forewarned is to be...
Read moreThis is a very busy place. Not enough staff and not enough places to sit, especially when waiting. The staff get to you as soon as they notice you. I sat outside by the front door. I was waited on after a while. I ordered the Manhattan scramble. It came with a side, I ordered home fries and coffee. The coffee took a while to get to me. The scramble arrived and I immediately noticed that the scramble had an abundance of potatoes. Lots of large chunks of potatoes. Small slivers of corned beef and the onions and peppers, topped with sour cream and tomatoes chopped. If one ingredient outshines the rest, then it should be named after the main ingredient. The scramble would have been correctly labeled potato scramble. The waiter was aware of the problem and withheld his knowledge and recommendations from his customer. With the front door in close proximity, I was inundated by loud conversations and constant noise. I almost had to grab some staff to refill my coffee cup. I have eaten here before with excellent results, but it wasn't the same this time. For that I'm sad to say that I recommend this restaurant with a caution. Call ahead, inform your party of wait times and make sure everyone can stand that long waiting. No place to sit gramma and grandpa down doesn't feel right to me. Add in children and I wouldn't...
