The owner/manager is absolutely the most rude individual I have ever dealt with while dining. We arrived at this cute, colorful little restaurant. There were already about 8 people outside waiting to get a table. My wife and I went inside to be put on the list. We stood there for about 5 min unacknowledged as employees scurried back and forth. Finally, someone said just write your name down. So we did table for 4 and then waited back outside for about 10 min. The hostess called my name and asked if the other 2 people were there? I said no that they were on their way. She seated us in a very nice spot on the back patio. We told the waitress the 2 others in our party were about 5 min. away. She took our drink order and suggested scones which we ordered as well. A short time later our drinks arrived and then another woman asked the waitress where the other two members of our party where. She informed her that they were almost here. The woman told the waitress that she shouldn't of seated us. She left I had one sip of my drink and the lady returned this time asking us directly where the other 2 people are. I told her about 2 min. away. She then said that we shouldn't of been seated without our full party and that's everyone's policy (not just hers EVERYONE'S, apparently she knows every establishment's policies by heart) My wife then informed her we told her hostess not everyone was present and it was not an issue. We also said that the restaurant we ate at the previous night had no trouble with sitting us prior to the full party arriving. She then insisted that we call the rest of the party to inquire as to their whereabouts. We were both shocked and appalled informing her they were 2 min. away. She then became really rude and informed us that it was a church day (not sure what that has to do with anything, it was 11:00) and we would have to go back outside until the rest of our party arrived. We informed her we already ordered food. She said it's policy you need to leave your table and go outside " that our hour table is now an hour and a half table ". We were both in shock because we've never been spoken too in that manner. I couldn't figure it out. I'd hate to think because I have a beard and wear a Torah necklace that it was a prejudice thing. My wife and I left as requested and of course our family arrived at that moment in the parking lot. I gave it a few minutes to digest what had just occurred. I called the restaurant a few minutes later and asked for the manager or owner. To my surprise it was the same lady. I explained my point of view and how rude and unprofessional what occurred was. She said sorry but all she can do is seat the whole party now if we come back and hung up on me. Funny I thought restaurants were in the business of good service.
I recommend skipping this place. Clearly, the owner/manager learned from...
Read moreTERRIBLE customer service! Paid nearly $60 for breakfast (!!!!) and was berated by the OWNER of the restaurant into leaving before we were completely finished with our drinks because there was a "line at the door!"
Just returned from breakfast at The Breakfast Cottage. When I arrived, I was told a ten top had just been seated and it would be a few minutes before a table was free. I urged them to take their time as my party had not arrived yet. About twelve minutes later, they seated us. Our waitress was polite, friendly, and very attentive throughout our experience.
However, as we finished, I heard someone tell our waitress that there was "a line out the door" and asked her if we were done yet. Our waitress brought us our check and cleared our food. Not even a minute later, the same woman who had mentioned the line approached our table and asked if we were done as there was a "line out the door." We said we were almost done (my card had not even been returned yet). We were finishing our drinks when the woman came back for a third time and again told us about the "line out the door."
At this point, my friend mentioned that the woman was being a little rude. We had just barely had our food taken away and we were finishing up. The woman said that "little old ladies were waiting out in the cold" and we should be thinking about them as we finish up. My friend told her she was being rude and asked to speak to a manager. At that point, the woman revealed herself as the OWNER of the establishment and said that we were the rude ones making people wait. She then continued to berate us as we left.
As we left, we noticed three women sitting in the chairs by the door - the same chairs we waited in as we waited for our table. Is THIS how they treated the people who were at our table before us? Overall, it was an atrocious experience. I took my friend out to (a $60) breakfast to celebrate her birthday and THIS was our experience? Terrible. Will never go here again. The owner needs to brush up on "hospitality" and customer service. NOT the way to treat paying...
Read moreWonderful! Just not enough words to discribe this breakfast style cafe. Delicious+ comfortable+ excellent sercive, staff and food. You just have to expérience and enjoy for yourself. A must try place. Quaint and local art tastefully used as decor and priced very well. Cozy but not cramped seating. Colors that add whimsy and fun. Clean and great pains on sanitation to protect guests and staff without those chemical odors that can put off your taste buds. I enjoyed scrambled eggs topped with fresh tomates, cubed mozzarella cheese and drizzled with balsamic sauce. Came with crisp, thick bacon, creamy grits garnished with green onions and an english muffin. A daring blend of flavor in generous portion that needed NO SALT OR CONDIMENTS (even though they brought them to you just incase you desired them). The flavor was stupendous. Cooked to perfection. A delight with fresh appeal. Did I meantion the great coffee??? They roast it themselves and the taste in incredible! My cup kept topped off by an attentive and very kind waitress. Before leaving she surprized me with a to go cup full of this coffee that could be easily labeled a dose of "miracle healing" for the soul. Will I return???? Oh yeah! As often as I can. My new hot spot in Venice Florida. You just can't...
