So I am a local. I spend tons of money between wadena, verndale and staples, and we use to goto Ted and Gens when it was open. I have never been to a restaurant with this poor of service. I have dined inside and have done take out several times. I have had so many issues. Orders wrong. Over charged. 45 min wait times for food. Waiting over 30 mins to place orders for To Go orders. I have waited over a hour for ordering and food about 10 times. Today I just walked out waiting to place a to go order. Called in put on hold then Wait at front door to place order. Kept being told be right with you. Only 5 ppl in restaurant..Waited Over 30 mins never got waited on. I have ordered pizza late at night and had to wait because they burnt 2 pizzas back to back. Recently we went to 3 meat buffet had to wait 45 mins for ribs to come on buffet line. Once they were on line i could tell they where microwaved. But a table next to us got 6 orders of ribs placed on their table literally 5 mins after I asked for staff to let me know when more will be out. Remind you this was half way during buffet time like 7pm. So not end of the day. I Wanted to stop in get quick bite then back to work There was no menu that day so the table got special privilege to get ribs at discounted price (buffet price vs menu price) and got to take them home. I have gave this place so many tries and my kid go to school with the familys that own this and we tried to spend money in local area but can't do it anymore. WE HAD one waitress we loved who worked there after Ted and gens closed. She always went up and above for us. So it's staffing and management issue. Foods good once you get it. Tried to talk to manager by email, facebook and over the phone. Cant...

We have dined here in the past and never had any complaint. Tonight, sadly, will likely be the last time for us. We arrived at 4:45 and seated ourselves after being directed to do so. There were only 2 other tables occupied., so not busy. It was $5 burger night but we didn't want burgers. We ordered a French dip sandwich and a Macho nachos with beef. Ou order was taken at 4:55. As we waited 5 or 6 other tables came in. They must have all ordered burgers because they got their food quickly, within 10/15 minutes. We didn't get our food until 5:40! The nachos were cold with less than a quarter cup of meat and half the size they were 6 months ago. I really stress DO NOT ORDER THE FRENCH DIP! It was nasty. A 6 inch hogie bun with 6 slices of meat, the problem is the meat was like cheap lunch meat you get at the grocery store. It tasted weird and off. I got through maybe half before handing it off to my husband, who eats every thing. $14 for something that would cost me $3 to do at home. I'm still burping that taste up. Not a great evening celebrating our 27th...

This was a horrible 1st time experience on 10/30. Really hungry after an auction. Read the reviews and thought it sounded great on our way to our new home in Wadena. Go in and hubby tells me to order him a beer if the waitress comes. She does so I do. When I ask for a drink menu, she rudely says…”You don’t know what you want to drink?” When she comes 20 minutes later with beer, we give her our order. Sat there for over 40 minutes. I had walleye. Hubby had Whiskey Sirloin. Plates come with reheated carrots and the worst mash potatoes of ALL TIME. Think of eating paste. Walleye was good and hot. Husbands steak tasted like it was dipped in Heavy and Dirty motor oil. Actually took a bite and could not swallow it. Yes, it was that bad! Two drinks, over $60 and an hour an a half later when we begged another waitress for a bill, we left. This is only the second negative restaurant review I have ever written. Thought long and hard before writing it. Such a...

I've been here a few times now as I'm passing through the area. I like the atmosphere and the food is good at a fair price. Some of the prices are on the higher side, but that's most places now. I met the owner the first time I was there and he's a nice guy. The breakfast buffet has a large selection. I prefer to order and I've enjoyed the food. I've had really good friendly service during a visit and I've had slower, not as good of service on a visit. So it really depends on the server and possibly the day. We all have off days and it's hard to find good help in the restaurant field. All and all good experiences and we'll be back when we're in the area.

“Argh Mateys!” This restaurant was sea-diving good! A huge catch. This place has more than just pirates on the menu. You will be surprised to see a wide range of food options. The fried pickles appetizer was fish-tastic! Your Mommas Meatloaf burger was very good and tasty. It caused me to drool for heavens sake! My bedtime partner ordered the Aloha Chicken, as she is on a strict diet due to her chronic eating disorder. She stated, “Oh this chicken is filling me up.” As one could presume, this restaurant was anything but ‘fishy’, however I did have reoccurring bowel problems immediately following leaving the restaurant.

what a fun find. The food was great. The service was better and stuck in the middle of nowhere in Verndale Minnesota. There’s even room for about four semi trucks if you park right. It’s definitely on my list of here’s where you’re stopping. I had the prime rib special and it was awesome. The salad bar alone is worth the trip.
