Hef's Hut Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Vernon Township

The food was wayyy better than I expected. We got here on a day that it was completely dead (our fault completely. I think it was a Tuesday at 5pmish?) I was really hesitant because the vibe seemed off at first. We were told that they weren't even sure if the cook was in yet, so we were again, a little hesitant when we did order the food.

I just got a rum and coke, but the prices were good. The server was very friendly and talkative, especially since it was just us.

Ended up ordering a pretzel, pork fries, kielbasa/schnitzel? wrapped in bacon and grilled cheese with pickled onions.

Everything was really good! The pretzel and the dips were super. Fries were so tasty and cooked perfectly. The kielbasa was served with a tangy sauce which I didn't expect. My only disappointment was the grilled cheese. The flavors just didn't quite work together, but it was prepared perfectly as well.

It's off the beaten path for us and really not our crowd (we're not golfers lol) but I would definitely go again...

Chickenbreast thin like a carpaccio not even covering the whole very dry and old Kaiserroll!! Hot dog taste old and bad. Chicken fingers so dry need to drink gallon of water! Ketchup no name Brand in a Restaurant omg ( delectables is a AFI/PFG Foodservice delivery Brand)!!

Looks like there is a money Issue and the customer has to bleed for it.

Stay AWAY!! Run away!!!

English isnt my first language (but if you food would be just as good as my language you would have a better review) and he suggested that I schould try the best food on the menu.. now my question is shouldn’t be everything delicious on the menu? You guys are catering to all the wrong people and way over your head . Closed at 8 pm on a Friday everyone used to have fun for locals it was a great place the pool table was fun and the outdoor space was always fun .You have ruined our mountain by turning it into some bougie out of state place with nowhere for local peple to go out. We do not like anything about this place and will not return anytime soon. Even the golfers that I have driven to and from the resort have said it's way to fancy for men who golf there. I am a uber driver and take a lot of the people who stay up here and most of people the place and say it's to fancy to go in. This is Sussex County not Long Island!! Remember why all of this Closed and never really took off the locals live here all year and keep this mountain...
