The map location is the tent and 2 quarter potties. There is no real restroom, no place to even buy water. They had something like a cooler, but no cups though. After we checked in at the desk, we had to hike into the woods for a little while to reach the location.
At the location we had college kids who work there yell at us and threaten to take us off the course for every little thing: when someone wasn’t listening (according to the them), when someone asked questions about certain policies (why only easy trails were open) and so on. We got yelled at the entire time. The blonde girl was screaming that she can refund the money and we can leave, if we don’t like the policy. We were a big group, everyone heard it.
After 10-15 minutes the rain started and they told us to get out. It was a completely different person, who advised us they do not do refunds. It was when we were already taking off the equipment. Even though we were yelled at the entire time with threats to take us off the course and be issued a refund.
The call to management wasn’t helpful either. They said it’s a seasonable business, so they feel comfortable keeping the money. Even if you can’t/don’t want to come back. John is making a terrible reputation for the place, I see he is mentioned a few times in other reviews. I asked him if there was another manager, as I wasn’t comfortable speaking to him at all and he literally replied “I will not carry this conversation further” without answering a question.
I’ve been to few of these parks. This was the worse. Even if you don’t care about the refund policy. The set up, the infrastructure around the course. Pretty much any treetop park is much better, at least you get a real restroom and a bottle of water elsewhere for sure.
Also, they will not notify you if they expect to close the park that day. We had 20+ people with individual reservations from 11:30 am till 1:45 pm and not a single person received a call(even though the website says they will call). The park was closed around 12.
*You can see John's response and clearly, he is no condition to run any customer facing business with his accusations that any negative review is not true. It is true, it was our experience and you should be able to manage it more gracefully.
Update: the creepiest thing happened. I decided to use a code I was issued for canceled reservation and HE (John) was waiting at the parking lot for me (the reservations are timed, so he knew my name and the time). He caused a seen at the parking lot/check in area and would not let me in unless I paid the second time. This was due to the fact that I opened a dispute with the bank for original charge over 2 months ago (dispute wasnt approved). I was with a group of friends, 1.5 hrs drive from home, so we had to pay. So basically this place/John charged me twice now. I have to open another dispute and hope this will be approved.
Additionally, staff on the corse was rude again (not everyone, but there are definitely characters who overstep their responsibilities and...
Read moreDear TreEscape,
My kids are mad at me because they want to return again today!
We went Saturday, 6/8/2019 for my child's 14th bday. Our group was 2 adults, 4 teens, 1 little guy. We arrived at 2:30 for a 3pm climb. It was a great day.
The staff really adds to the experience. They are so encouraging. They are equal parts employees and psychologists.
Fred transported us to the course. He was patient with us even when 2 of my group had disappeared to use the restroom. We refer to him as Friendly Fred. He set the tone for our adventure. ALL of the staff is patient.
When Fred returned to pick us up at 6:30pm he remembered that it was my daughter's bday and wished her well. It put a smile on her face.
2 members in my group were scared to lunge into the zip. Joseph kept encouraging them. He said, "The zipline is your reward. Making the climb without doing the zipline is like eating your dinner and skipping dessert". After my niece finally jumped off of the platform, she said, "I could listen to Joseph's soothing voice all day long".
At one point, one of the kids wanted to give up. The young guy w the pony tail who has been there 2 years was down below. He overheard her and teased: "No way, I haven't had to rescue anyone all year, do you really want to break my streak?" Then, he gave us an expert tip: on the green course "Sussex", he told us to kick down the floating sticks to walk on top of them. It worked. Like a psychologist, he got into her head. The result was that my niece felt accomplished, re-energized, and no longer spoke of giving up.
My 7 year old, started on the yellow but it was too much. As the tears welled in his eyes, staff told him to try the purple (ground) ropes. They were right. They built his confidence and he did 2 yellows and 1 green.
Tip: Bring snacks. Three hours climbing in the heat triggers appetites. We brought clementines and water. We shouldve have brought something heavier like buttered rolls or cheese sticks.
Staff says that the night climb is amazing. The ground is pitch black w lights illuminating each course.
It was a great time. The course is great. The staff knows what they're doing. The problem is that my kids are already nagging...
Read moreLast summer, campers with SCARC, Inc. Summer Experience had the most exhilarating experience with TreEscape! From start to finish, the entire journey was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that every detail had been carefully considered to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants. The staff's warmth and professionalism immediately put us at ease, and their dedication to creating a supportive environment for teens and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities was truly commendable. As campers soared through the treetops, they were immersed in breathtaking views that left them in awe. The zip lines provided a perfect blend of excitement and serenity, offering a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape. Each platform offered a new perspective, and campers felt a sense of accomplishment with every zip. What sets TreEscape apart is the adrenaline-pumping experience and the commitment to ensuring campers were comfortable and safe. John ensured each camper was supported by a TreEscape staff during the entirety of their adventure, which provided extra support for those who needed additional support. John went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and even provided us with a photographer during our last visit to capture the memories! Beyond the physical challenges, the ropes course also served as a catalyst for social interaction and personal growth. Through teamwork and camaraderie, campers forged meaningful connections with their peers and the staff, learning valuable communication and problem-solving skills along the way. I can't speak highly enough of the knowledgeable and friendly guides who accompanied us throughout the course. Whether you're a thrill-seeker or someone looking to step out of their comfort zone, I wholeheartedly recommend TreEscape for your next adventure. It's not just a zip-lining experience; it's a journey that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime. Thank you, TreEscape, for an adventure like no other!
