(Original review from 2021)
While Pizza Palace used to be okay, I have to say I've been rather disappointed on recent orders. The pizzas have been quite greasy, with the crust being soaked with it in spots, the cardboard in the box dripping with it. Also, some of the specialty pizzas are very disappointing. A BBQ Chicken pizza was essentially BBQ sauce with very little chicken. A Steak pizza was essentially a cheese pizza with very little steak (it's in there somewhere) and almost no onion. The same goes for the Hawaiian, which did have a few, very few, lil' bitty pieces of pineapple, and even less ham; it was hard to tell as it was lost in the cheese. The Meat Lovers pizza was better ... but sometimes the sausage is overcooked, and the pizza itself undercooked, greasy. I wish they would get better and I might try them again later ... but not for awhile.

Can you say, "G-G-G-R-R-R-E-E-E-A-A-A-S-S-S-S-S-E!!!" boys and girls!!! I ordered the Meat Lovers pizza which, by definition, should have SOME more grease than the average pie ... but this pie was DRIPPING with it! The crust was SOAKED with it, veryy soggy. The grease overpowered everything else, including the sauce and the meat, as if they cooked the hamburg, sausage and everything else without even draining it!
It's sad that there's no real good pizza shop in the Vernon/Rockville area. My experience with Pizza Palace just now made me realize that they do not even care about what they put out. I feel I wasted my money.
A far better pizza experience came from just getting a Digiorno Supreme from the frozen section at the local grocer. The crust was crisp on the outside and the inside was NOT soaked in grease. I could pick up a slice without getting my hand drenched. I could eat the slice at my leisure without having to worry about any of the toppings sliding off my slice and making a mess. And the taste was flavorful, my mouth is still satisfied with the spice and tomatoey taste of the sauce. There is, some time after eating, an aftertaste that tells me this was a frozen pizza ... but it is NOT overpowering, and does not hide the good taste from the sauce. For a good pizza experience in the Vernon/Rockville area, sad to say, go with DiGiorno ... it is BY FAR a much better experience than spending money on ... THAT!...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I order from this place whenever we are feeling pizza, grinders or wings. Usually not all that bad, but tonight was a pretty awful experience. I placed my order online and there is a section to put a comment. After waiting an hour (the online said 40 minutes which was fine) I decided to call up and see how much longer I would have to wait. Again, not a problem if i have to wait, but in the section for comments i put, please call before leaving the store. not a hard demand. Just want to be aware that my food is on the way. well the lady said that the food was on the way, awesome, i explained that i had put in the comment section to please call. her response is why i am giving a 3 star review. oh, he doesn't call. wait, what? it was a request to call before leaving the store.
he doesn't read the comments.
well then why is there a section for comments? this isn't the first time this has happened and it is really annoying. get your drivers to follow requests especially when people are...
Read moreOrdered a grinder and was told 15 mins. It took 30. Plus the woman at the register could t even pretend to smile once the whole time I was there. She did manage to keep eating whatever food she had while customers were coming in and out. She cashed me out for the grinder, which came to $10.05. I gave her a $20, and of course she asked for the nickel. If I had the nickel, don't you think I would have given it to you. And thank you for the attitude when I told you I did not have a nickel. My grinder is done in less than 5 minutes, and she still almost manages to give it to a woman who was waiting on a steak grinder. As some one that is in the industry and Pursuing a degree in management, this woman would be immediately reprimanded and/or fired. If she hates her job so much, she should just quit. I won't go back there if she still...
