The Green Olive — Restaurant in Vernon

I used to work on Alameda & 51st since 2017. The Green Olive was one of my go-to places for lunch. Quick, efficient, reasonably priced, and delicious. The ingredients are fresh & the food is flavourful. All the workers are really nice. The restaurant is tiny, so this isn't a good place for large groups, but you can place an order with them and pick up orders for office for multiple people or yourself. Sadly, we moved offices to DTLA, and I've been trying to find a Mediterranean place yara just as good and has that amazing green hot sauce. No one has or will ever come close to The Green Olive. Trust me when I say I've been to several in the area. I love in East LA, so sometimes I'll order delivery. My daughter loves in the IE & same, we've been trying to find a good Mediterranean restaurant in her area and it's the same. They're alright, but nothing can beat The Green Olive. The closest one to her is in Santa Ana. So the search continues. My favorite doses are the salmon wrap. I'm not a fan of salmon, but this wrap is amazing. I love the falafels because they are not bland and are flavourful. I love the grilled veggies and tabouli salad, but I can not get enough of The Fattoush salad & the green hot sauce. I've lived in Boyle Heights & East L.A. forever & never knew this place existed, I came across it on IG one of my most favorite foods in gyros but they have to have the meat that is carved in restaurant not that gross frozed pre formed garbage that some "Mediterranean restaurants" sell..I ordered the Gyro which came served with a side salad, pickled beets & a pepperoncini and I also ordered the Gyro Mix which is gyro meat,chx kabob,beef kabob, hummus, & a side salad with 1 pita bread...also ordered an order of churros they were pictured as a bag with small churros but it only ended up being 1 regular sized churro & it had a bavarian type filling which was not stated on their google map page...both combos were for myself as I was sampling their meats as I was thinking of ordering catering for Friday...all the food was perfect even the presentation in their to-go boxes, all meats were seasoned & tender (beef is extremely tender you can pull pieces straight off the kabob), rice was fluffy, plates came with 2 sauces definately the green sauce is the best...highly recommended! Worth it lamb was moist, beef, moist, chicken moist the raza did a great job cooking the yellow rice has flavor.

Pita served cold tho and the couscous wrap is served cold to was not expecting it.

The meal felt like it was raining outside and tje taste of the meat made it like I was at home eating food with flavor for once.

When Zplace is closed on sundays or closed anytime head over to The Green Olive.

They also have a HandiCap accesible bathroom for employees which is a plus waiting, eating, drinking, and using restroom while waiting to charge my car at Chargepoint.

Btw the tables some need wedges or folded cardboard not to wobble.

Seating is indoors only and entrance inbetween 2 restaurants.
