First time visiting on a Friday fish fry night. We went at 4:40pm to beat the crowd but were told all the empty tables we saw in dining room area were reserved.
Told about 45 minute wait, but sitting at the bar (tables there too) you get service so we did that. Did not know you can make reservations here, now we know.
Table service was very good by and prompt! I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea asking if they make it with Tequila and he said “ no we make it the right way… boy was he right! The LIT was tasty without being over powering
I ordered the clam chowder soup and let me tell you, it was the best I have had in a long time! Nice potatoes, huge chunks of clams and you could tell it was made in the kitchen, not from a can! I would come back here again just for a bowl of the claim chowder soup!
Next I tried the fried cod and they with mashed potato’s and coleslaw. The cod were huge and I had to take one home! The bread coating on the cod was thick, and even cutting with fork chunks of coating would not come off the fish. It was outstanding breading with slight fish flavor.
You can order two or three cod, I am glad I went with two! The mashed potatoes included the skins, and some spice that made them outstanding!
My wife had the Cuban with fries and it also was huge! She stated the bread and meat were very tender. We had to take half home again! The fries were wide cut and again, flavored very very well!
I would definitely come back here for the exact same things, but am excited that this meal was so outstanding that I cannot wait to try other menu items!

Kudos to the chef and staff at Stone Porch, you have a winning atmosphere,...
Read moreWe really wanted to like this place but the food was not great. Atmosphere is really nice and it’s a visually appealing place to go eat. The staff were nice. There’s really not much to say that’s positive about the food besides that the breading on the fried chicken was seasoned well and crispy. Mashed potatoes didn’t come with the gravy, had huge half potatoes that weren’t mashed, and just didn't taste like they came from a restaurant. The chicken was mostly juicy but there were spots that were very dry and hard to eat. French fries were a combination of 10% crispy, 60% soggy, and 30% undercooked/raw. The barbecue sauce was very strange and was definitely not regular barbecue sauce - it had tons of what tasted like undissolved chili powder. It’s probably the worst sauce I’ve ever had and really regret putting it on my fried chicken. Mac and cheese was pretty sad, it was watery, under-seasoned, and mushy. Unfortunately, the worst were the cheese curds. Again a very strange version of a Wisconsin classic, more closely related to a really bad mozzarella stick. There’s definitely nothing Wisconsin about the cheese curds. Too bad, had high hopes with all the positive reviews online and with reading something about the owners being affiliated with Sugar River Pizza which most people would agree is some of the best food in Verona - so I really hope that’s not true. Not sure what happened with our order but safe to say that there’s definitely better places to get food...
Read moreMy husband and I with our friend had reservations for 6 p.m. on a week night. We were shown to our table right away and promptly ordered cocktails. I ordered a regular Margarita, my husband a NA beer and our friend a Blueberry margarita while we checked out the menu. Our drinks arrived. Our friend said her drink was very good. I ordered a stone fired oven Margarita pizza. My husband wanted the Eggplant Parmesan and our friend ordered the Shrimp Po Boy sandwich.
The wait was not long and our food arrived. Our friend loved her Shrimp Po Boy which had fried shrimp, Creole remoulade, lettuce, and tomato on a french roll and seasoned french fries. She loved it but wished it had a bigger serving of french fries.
My husband received lightly breaded fried eggplant on top of house-made marinara sauce and linguine. He thought it tasted delicious.
My Margarita pizza arrived hot from the stone oven and was cut into wedges. There were large sliced tomatoes, basil, and sliced mozzarella with a balsamic reduction on top. The pizza crust was nicely browned, soft and baked through. I thought the pizza was about 12 inches in diameter. The pizza was very delicious and I surprised myself by eating it all.
Towards the end of our dinner, it did get a little noisy in the dining room as they were getting ready for trivia night. Our waitperson was attentive and friendly.
All in all, the cocktails and food were very delicious and we will return to the restaurant...
