This was the worst breakfast I've had here, or really anywhere, in a long time. I paid extra for an English muffin that was toasted on one side and raw on the other. I paid extra for fruit that was rotten (watermelon) or hard (both other melon). Only the strawberries and grapes were edible, and the grapes were not sweet. My omelet didn't come with the sour cream and salsa (I had to go to the counter to request it). My Mexican Mocha was sludge. Truly awful. I paid almost $50 (with the tip) for two meals. You have to tip when you pay, so no one comes to check on you, to see if your meal is ok, or if you need anything. Almost every empty table was dirty; I watched another customer get a cloth to clean a table for her family. I realize it is hard to get good help, but if someone asks if they can clean a table, you should probably send someone out to see what needs to be done. Sunday brunch is a treat I look forward to. But not here.

I recently moved to Cottage Grove and this is such a hidden gem! I've visited twice and (with others in my group) tried the two breakfast sandwiches, both are stellar. The bacon was nice and crispy. They had a carnitas skillet special on my last visit and that was also excellent. My daughter's berry pancakes were the best I've tasted at a restaurant in a long time - just the right amount of vanilla, slightly sugary, and the berries were perfectly ripe and sweet. Coffee and smoothies are good, too. Outdoor seating is very pretty. Don't sleep on this place if you're in the area, or make a special trip and then hike the Glacial Drumlin trail (right behind the parking lot)!

Great destination for a bike ride. My wife and I rode on the Glaciel Drumlin bike trail and were happy to find this as our lunch stop. Excellent roast beef sandwich (lots of meat). The servers were great. Updated: 3 years later, still riding my bicycle and stopped in here during the COVID restrictions and it is still a great place. They have both outdoor and indoor seating. Indoors they have every other table unavailable and the servers are super attentive to cleaning and being clean. Food is still wonderful.

Disappointing.. service took 40 minutes for the wrong item, and coffee took 20 minutes for a hot coffee to be delivered cold.

Let me start at the top, first impressions were good, quiet, quaint, little home town cafe. However, when my girlfriend and I approached the ordering counter and asked where the drink selections were located (not on the printed menu we were handed) we were told if they are not on the menu he didn't know. That being no help and a line building behind us I set off looking for the menu, and found a sign just to the left of the counter with the options and pricing.

Then, we placed our order of crispy chicken wraps and a Mexican mocha. After 15 minutes I started to wonder where the mocha was, and noticed in behind the service counter. This is not a serve yourself coffee shop nor did they ever call out the drink being ready. 5 minutes later it was brought to the table and was already cold. Almost 5 dollars for a cold coffee.

Then we recieved our food another 20 minutes later, by then we had been on location for over 40 minutes and were getting frustrated. When we recieved our food we were given ceaser chicken wraps, the incorrect menu item. Honestly, by then I was so hungry and had a whole day ahead that I didn't even fight it, knowing it would be another wait for the correct food.

What started as an exciting Sunday afternoon coffee and lunch run turned into almost an hour of waiting and disappointment.

I would not recommend this cafe based off...

If I could give zero stars, I would.

It took me 27 minutes to get my take out order today. It appears that sit down orders take precedence over takeout orders as the gentlemen who were (4) people behind me in line got their food first as I was sitting on the couch, right next to their table. They had both ordered a cooked meal, while I ordered (2) sandwiches and fries…yes the fries are cooked, but it shouldn’t take nearly a half hour for them!!

The girl ahead of me waited almost as long as I did…only the girl behind the counter came over to her to let her know that her order would be ready soon, said nothing to me. So I got up and walked to the counter. I see the girl ahead of me getting her order and counter girl apologizing for the long wait. When my order was ready 5 minutes after that, no apology, just that my chipotle mayo was on the correct sandwich.

Rewind to the beginning of my order, the counter girl acted like it was such a pain/problem for me to add mayo so a sandwich she didn’t even know if it came with mayo or not!! (the Cottage Grove Sandwich) I had also asked for mayo on my chicken salad croissant. She had to inform me that the chicken salad is already pre-made, which yes I assumed that would be the case…so I asked her to have it put on the croissant itself. That seemed to be a huge issue, so I asked for it on the side.

Rude, horrible service!! Food...

Went here for breakfast ahead of playoff game near by. Order at 11:15 with the expectations we could get out in 1 hour. At 12:15 we checked on the status of our order and were informed we were #3 in line and would not get our order in time. When I requested a refund I got the following responses in this order 1) we have a sign on the door that says we are short staffed, 2) would you like your food to go, 3) I am not going to give you a refund. I can only hope this employee was an owner, because I would hate to think an employee would be allowed or trained to tell a customer who had waited almost an hour with zero update on the status of their food and that it would be further delayed, but that's ok because we have a sign - I am not going to give you a refund. EXTREMELY POOR customer service. So many better ways to handle this situation. I have sympathy for the staffing situation. I have disgust for the customer service. Clearly, many customers have had a different and more positive experience, To be expected or they would not be in business. All I suggest is to make sure you are ok with this type of experience and resolution being one of the possible options when you choose...
