Eagle Inn - Sauk Prairie — Restaurant in Village of Prairie du Sac

10-10-15 STRONG DISLIKE!!!... My boyfriend and I went here after a long day of hiking. We ordered the prime rib for $14.95. But what we got was what we have decided to call barbeque beef roast. We asked our waitress is this Prim Rib?! And she said yes that's how it comes and it's the last of it. She only came back to our table once after that and asked if everything was ok. And then she brought the check. We weren't charged for Prim Rib and the check just said Rib. Our check came out to $24.74. After the check came I asked a different waitress if what was on my plate was prime rib? She said I'm new I don't know. I said ok so is this the way prime rib is prepared and served here? Thinking this has to be a joke. She told me she would ask the cook. We decided to go up and ask ourselves. The cook said it was shaved prime rib. So still unsatisfied I asked him for the manager and he said there wasn't one present. We will not return to this restaurant. Not only was the waitress not able to tell us what kinds of beer were available I overheard her not being able to recollect the kinds of juice available. Also before I sat down I was nervous about this place after reading the previous reviews and I forgot something in the car. As I walked out another couple was behind me. I asked them how their experience was. The couple said the food was great and a regular stop for them. But the lady said she ordered the chicken and dumpling soup and never got it. I use to go here twice a month for the last 5 years. But the last two times were not so good. It is either the owner cutting back on quality and amounts or a bad cook. We drive from baraboo twice a month. Both their facebook and google say they close ar 10. It is 9 and they are closed. we went today9/29 and it was the worst taco salad ever. We only stopped because the press box was closed. I thought they cant mess up a taco salad lets give it another try. The meat was burnt like as in burned to the bottom of a pan. I pulled the chunk out ( about 1/4 of my food), put it on a napkin and told the waitress to take to the cook. Who looked all of 19 yrs old. Then i went to eat my favorite part , the shell. It was ice cold and stale . I asked the waitress if they were pre made and put in a cooler, she didnt have to ask because she knew the answer Yes.( takes 20 seconds to make to order) She told me to fill out a comment card because the "cooks dont listen to her" so Mike Here is my comment card. I noticed she didnt take it back to the kitchen. A bad cooks greatest tool is the garbage. Look inside it and you will know what people dont like even though they smile and say everything is fine. so...we ordered the chili with the "homemade" bread and received two slices of generic bread (the only thing I can say about the chili itself is it tasted like chef boyardee...at best). now, about the bread...after our meal, while paying the bill, I asked about the loaves sitting on the bakery rack and they told me that was their homemade white. naturally, I asked what then was served with the chili, at which point the girls proceeded to tell me (while I was holding a packaged loaf of their homemade white bread in my hand) "we ran out". ...obviously confused, I gestured to the loaf in my hand...the girls then commented on how "yeah, it's weird! sometimes they say we ran out but I know we made bread and it's over here!" would have been nice for them to tell us that when we ordered the large chili specifically for the bread! ..yeah, ok. Anyway! let's talk about the beef dish my husband received with the mountain of nasty canned peas and stuffing that someone dropped a can of sage into...suffice it to say that meal was less than delicious. The tuna melt was not delicious but far more edible than what the others ordered. don't waste your time or money...
