Chacks Day break Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Village of Weston

We went on a Friday and the lack of customers should have been our 1st clue! Walked in and all the staff seemed to be sitting around. (The owner, bar tenders and waitresses) We ordered our food and quickly noticed our waitress Kerry S. bless her heart was running around bussing tables, serving drinks at the bar, and waitressing. One lady I couldn’t tell if she was working or a customer she sat at the bar drinking 1 min. and behind the bar the next. As I sat people watching I noticed another staff taking our waitress’ tip and pocket it. The food was ok but nothing great and again because our waitress was the only one actually working our food took longer then it should have. we will definitely NOT be returning! With service like this I don’t see this place...

I have been here before and the food was good! My parents came into town and we wanted to treat them to a good lunch. We walked in and the kitchen was dark. There were about 3 guys sitting at the bar and the bartender. I asked if the kitchen was open and was told no it was not. This was at about noon. We proceeded to leave, disappointed that there was nothing posted that they would not be serving food like they advertise. We were then told to go down the steeet to Trailside if we wanted food. So moral of the story, don't waste your time here, go down the street...

I was told to try day break for a good fish fry by a friend as i have struggled to find a good fish fry that reminds me of home with good fresh portions of perch walleye,and white fish. Most places here serve cod which I'm not crazy about. Iv come to the conclusion after trying 7 spots in wausau that central wisconsin doesn't have the resources for the fry I'm used to back in Michigan.
