Sat down at bar on an average Saturday evening. There were open tables and open seats at bar and in the place. I was greeted promptly by bartender and ordered what I usually get... a Bell's Amber. They were out. Bummer. I ordered a CBC IPA. I was asked if I wanted a tall or short, so I said short. I was given a tall in a plastic glass. What??? Who drinks beer out of a plastic cup at a bar? So I find out the barware is all plastic. Kinda gross...like I'm at a pool party of fraternity, I'll just drink my ipa out of a room temp plastic cup. Next I was provided a menu to choose my dinner. Immediately, the bartender returned and asked if I would move down a stool. Said she'd buy my beer if i did Odd, except it made room for a couple to sit at the bar. Never mind the multitude of open seats/ tables throughout the place. As it turns out, that power couple are buddies with Keith, the owner. He responded to them right away talking about a tequila he ordered in and that they should be trying it. I ordered a gondola sub w/house chips and a side salad. They arrived very quickly. The sub was good and as ordered. A note: side salad is literally shredded iceberg, shredded cheese and a few cherry tomatoes on side. Lacking at best. Lastly, I took home 6 hot wings. They were as expected and mild to medium heat/flavor compared to other "hot" wings in area. Good, just not too hot. Overall, 3 out 5 is fair. The big temperature readout on wall showing 32 degrees ber is meaningless when poured in a plastic cup. Cardo"s is ALWAYS out of something when we go. Sub was good. Salad is very lackluster, and wings were fine. We would love to visit more but there's no priority in keeping menu stocked in our repeated attempts to make this place on our regular rotation. Staff is friendly enough. Just always a...
Read moreTonight, Thursday March 16 2023 I ordered 2 Philly Subs to go. These are about $9 each. Had Mac n Cheese ($3 more as a substitute) with one and chips with the other.
First, the subs are the shortest, thinnest "subs" I have ever eaten anywhere. These are sandwiches, not subs! There was more green pepper and onion on both sandwiches than there was steak. The steak on these sandwiches were dry, not seasoned, and bland/rubbery as a result. The fake sub bread was bland. Right next door is a Subway and despite disliking that Subway I would always pick them order these subs hands down.
The mac n cheese costs $3 more as a substitute for the chips.. you can't even give me $10 to eat that Mac. Places like Longhorn Steakhouse that charge $3 more for Mac now have a legitimate reason to do so because at least their mac actually tastes good. The chips were tadteless. Needless to say, I had to throw away all the chips, some of the bread, and some of the mac.
What I don't understand is how this quality of food is allowed to leave a kitchen? After seeing your place has 600+ reviews averaging 4.7 stars.. I don't understand how how you could be that bad. I've eaten all sorts of different taverns and pubs but this was by far the worst food. Regardless of dine in or to go you should never feed a customer trash. As a result, this first impression ended with an extremely dissatisfied customer leaving a permanently negative review.
If you want a good steak sub go drive to The Old Bag of Nails just over on Hill Rd. I was interested in trying pizza and dinners at Cardo's but now that's off the table. I will never consider this place...
Read moreWife and I just bought a home in Pickerington, and are in process of moving things in. Decided to explore some, and ran across a true jem! Cardo's pizza tavern! Many tables with multiple families Many children all having a wonderful time. We were seated promptly in a nice booth, worn to the point where it fit u just right. A delightful young lady approached our table, and asked my wife and I what brought us in tonight. Nice touch. We explained, new to the area, saw many vehicles and decided to try it out. We ordered a pizza, and a small order of wings. Pizza 🍕 on a very thin crunchy crust, just the right amount of sauce, toppings very fresh and delicious. Wings were deep fried, but not greasy. Crunchy skin, and hot juicy inside. Sauces were just as expected. A little while into our meal a gentleman named Keith came over, and welcomed us to the area, introduced himself as the owner and proceeded to let us know what nights live music would be playing, and when the large outdoor patio would be opening. So in summary, they go out of their way to make a pizza joint special!! Try them out, and I hope you will feel like we did tonight. Special. Thanks so much...
