Above and beyond in service. First, they were more than willing to adapt their menu items to be vegetarian which was awesome. More importantly though, they deserve a 10 out 5 for being kid-friendly. We made the fatal mistake of new parents bringing a hungry, over-tired baby after a full afternoon at the beach thinking she could somehow hang. When they saw how hungry she was they immediately brought out a plate for her so she wouldn't have to wait for the rest of the food. She loved it all and loved interacting with the staff who were beyond friendly and more than happy to engage with her. After she filled up, the tiredness took over and she had a melt down in the restaurant. I was so embarrassed but they were so patient! After it was clear she wasn't going to settle, I decided to take her outside. They helped me get the car seat out the door while I tried to keep a handle on my daughter. It was so hot outside and the staff was so thoughtful and brought me a bottle of water while I tried to calm her. After my husband came out so I could go finish my dinner, they offered to reheat my food and gave me a free lemonade to reset. I was so grateful for the grace and care they showed in making sure we had a beautiful dinner despite the cranky baby. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was chill and elegant. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an enjoyable dinner.

I decided to try out Asahi for the first time by calling in a takeout order, and I was completely wowed by their customer service over the phone. I spoke to Kimberly and asked several questions about their food options. I couldn’t find their menu initially online; however, Kimberly took the time to explain several popular menu options to me over the phone. I had a hard time understanding some of the names of items mentioned over the phone. So Kimberly was able to direct me to a couple social media platforms where customers had posted photos of their menu. Furthermore, Kimberly told me where on the menu to find the items she suggested. Never did l feel rushed off the phone and genuinely felt like a valued customer. I ended up ordering some of the suggested items from Kimberly, which were delicious. I still can’t pronounce the names of many of the menu items I ordered. However, I am confident the staff will make strides to make sure I get the food items I’m looking for. I’m in awe of my entire customer experience and I haven’t even dined in yet. I will try dining in for my next Asahi experience.

I don’t usually write reviews but I felt the need to for Asahi today. I’ve been here two other times with some friends which I should’ve written a review before but today I brought my dad to try it out and so I finally decided to write my review! We were welcomed in by Kimberly and she is just so awesome! My dad is not all too comfortable venturing out to try different restaurants and such but I just so happened to convince him to try out Asahi here and he absolutely loved it. Kimberly was so accommodating and informative on the dishes and my dad was trying out all these different kinds of things which he loved! Every time I’ve been here I felt so welcomed as if I was a part of the family and every time I come here I am always left with a positive experience with laughs and being full! The hot stone bowl is my go to but I might venture out to try more dishes, I will definitely be back and I’m so thankful for Kimberly’s service and being so helpful to us as we dined. Thank you again!

There are not enough stars to properly rate this awesome little place. While not particularly a large restaurant, tables and booths are positioned so that you don't feel like you are next to that lady in the waiting room of the Doctors office who insistently talks with you. Very comfortable atmosphere. There are two most stellar main attractions however. The first, this is arguably the best Korean food I've tasted in my multicultural experience. Secondly, and then there's Kim.

I had already been warned by reading the reviews both here and elsewhere, that Kim was the most highly regarded, respected, and loved front end staff member anyone has had the pleasure of meeting. With amazing speed, outstanding agility, and serious attention to customers, Kim takes care of the entire front end by herself!! Not a single table, or booth, that i saw, was ignored or left wanting.

I had the BBQ Makeral as my main dish. My wife had a generous helping of Beef Bulgogi. And of course the table was stocked with the plethora of little dishes of sides, which Kim kept restocking when my wife and I would devour it clean.

I cannot shout loud enough from the highest rooftop in Virginia Beach. Asahi Korean Resteraunt sets the bar pretty high. Poor Miss Kim gave us a tearfully joyous reaction to the significant tip my wife left on our $52 tab. She almost hugged us, telling us we are family now. She even followed us outside to our truck to make sure we made it okay.

We have four daughters, all grown and out of the house. Each daughter has had their own share as a server in a restaurant. So I speak with experience when I say, every server from Virginia Beach Ocean Front to Waterside in Norfolk, and in between, should come here and have a meal to watch how to properly function with customer service. Kim is...

I love this place! The hours are the worst I won’t lie about that but I honestly will wait till I can order from them. Totally worth it. Years ago I was very curious on how korean food tasted and this was the first restaurant I tried and I fell in love not only with the food but with the customer service wow they’re the best! Very very nice and helpful! One time the restaurant was full (it’s a small location) and the waitress apologized many times and gave us complimentary drinks and told us it was full but could try to come back later. We did and she actually remembered us! And gave us more complimentary drinks! Now they give you water and snacks while you wait. I never had this in a restaurant before. I usually order the same thing jajangmyeon and bulgogi some times I might order Kimbap or rice cakes. I try to try new things but this is my go to restaurant. I’ve tried others with better hours but nobody can replace Asahi this will forever stay my go to korean restaurant and I make sure to recommend them to everyone I know! You want to try korean food? This is the place the waitress will help you even if you’re not sure what you want they’re the best! Their prices are the best too! Last time I ate there for less than 50 I had a meal for 4 people with dessert and tea and beer! That’s a great deal! 100...
