The Comfy Belly — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Have heard about the place in the Virginia Pilot and on Next Door. The place has literally been open for only 3 or 4 months. We decided to come in for lunch while out running errands. They offer a wide array of home made comfort food, so of course they have mac n cheese! YUMMMMM!!!! But the kicker is they have Comfy Mac Bowls that you can order like Pizza Mac or Kickin Chicken or the Big Belly Mac and the My Belly Mac Bowl. There are plenty of extras that you can have inserted into your freshly prepared Mac Bowls. Then there's Burgers, salads, Apps, pizza, Full belly sandwiches........ Its all so good and comforting food. Then there's a full service bar, signature Bloody Marys and Mimosas, Local Craft beers and specialty drinks like Liquor pitchers (Orange, pinapple, Grapefruit, Pink lemonade, Orange cream sickle, Cherry). Pint night on Tuesdays with local craft beers, team trivia night, open jukebox nights, Thursday Karaoke night. Overall: I wouldn't go back due to the environment and food being just decent.

Service: Sat outside since I had my doggie. Then got myself a menu inside and went inside to order, and my husband brought our own drinks back. An employee came out to bring utensils and napkins. She brought my dog some ice water in a bowl. After waiting quite a while for just two burgers, we were about to leave. The server was genuinely nice throughout!

Food: The food was decent. The burger alone didn't have flavor. Burgers went from like $9-15

Atmosphere: It was quite literally a bar.. outdoor seating were two plastic picnic tables or bars along the railings. It was on the corner of a very busy intersection. Trying to understand what warranted TWO bartenders to completely ignore me while the bar was empty while I sat down. Started with a asking for a drink, and no problem. No ask if I would like a menu. Thought that was odd, but no worries. Immediately saw two other people walk up to the bar and ask for a drink and immediately offered menus. I asked for a menu and got one. Looked at it, set it down, and after 20 minutes asked them if it was ok if I ordered something (3 more people ordered food during this time as well). Ordered my food, and the bartenders disappeared. I can only guess what is happening with my order at this point.

Used to love this place, but apparently my business isn’t desired any longer.
