Cal'z Pizza, Subs & Wings Holland Road — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Edit 01/15/2025 2:30pm Tried again today and they made my pizza so thin it’s almost nonexistent. When I asked the male he said he may have spread it to much. I asked him if he didn’t have enough to make a large pizza and he said yes but he may have spread it too much. That makes no sense because it is the regular size of a large pizza. If he spread the correct amount of dough for a large too much the pizza would be larger but it isn’t. When I showed the y she said our pizzas are normally thin. I advised I come often and it’s never been this thin and she went silent.

I come here all of the time and use the same process. I call and ask if fresh slices are already out and if not I place an order instead of walking in and ordering. Today I called and a male said yeah it’s coming out right now it actually hasn’t made it to the warming station. I said great and arrived 15 minutes later just to find that he lied they hadn’t put one out they weren’t making one and I needed to order and wait if I wanted two slices of pepperoni. I'd like to recover some of my losses. I haven't ordered from this Cal'z in a couple of years. Whether it was COVID or capitalism, they've really gone downhill. This pizza 100% reminds me of high school cafeteria pizza with the clear cheese and the disk shaped meat like product that came on the pepperoni pizza we ordered. I don't recommend this filler for adults but your kids might eat it because it looks like it could be pizza. If this review is still up, the pizza is still available. Taste quality will not have changed.

We also ordered a calzone that was equally depressing. Since we're not going back to Cal'z to ask for a refund, we fed it to the dog. He subsequently threw it up in the backyard and the birds started picking at it. At this point just throw the whole store away! That food was HORRIBLE AND BLAND..I called my order in, I get there,no order..says it's "been cancelled",by who,I don't know,because I didn't cancel anything...so I had to wait an extra 20 mins for my pizza to be made,after them telling me it would only be 10 mins (of course I knew it would take longer) asked for a discount they took $3 off my bill..big whoop...I ordered a large pizza with wings..the pizza was bland,had me thinking I had covid again bc the pizza and wings didn't taste like anything!..all the sauce was in the bottom of the container,none on the wings..if I wouldn't have thrown it away so fast,I would've taken pictures!
