Can’t really complain much about our experience here. The beers were good; though each of the stouts were much stronger (flavorful?) than I’d say would be considered normal. It was like drinking ice cream without the cream. Definitely not what we’re used to; but different strokes for different folks. The Dunkleweiss was pretty smooth, as was the Pilsner Lager. The pretzel and beer mustard were good; but the beer cheese… I don’t know. There was something off about the consistency I don’t think any of us have ever experienced before. It’s hard to put into words. Gritty, maybe? The fantastic beer mustard made up for it. The double fried wings don’t slap like the ones you’d find at a Korean restaurant; but they are still pretty good. The ranch is on point. The main reason this establishment doesn’t earn five stars is for the lack of adequate noise abatement. We were yelling to hear each other about 90% of the time on a relatively slow night (based on Google Maps’ “slower than usual” standards.) A little sound dampening would go a long way in a brewery/restaurant with few, if any, soft surfaces. If this establishment would fix that one glaring issue, this would become our regular weekend go-to. Until then…

Commonwealth Brewery in Virginia Beach nails the blend of craft, community, and cool vibes. Tucked away in a sleek, industrial-chic space with soaring ceilings and eclectic decor, it’s the type of place you immediately feel part of—whether you’re a local or just passing through. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance, bustling without ever feeling chaotic. The beer lineup here? Pure artistry. Commonwealth Brewery serves up a stellar range of craft brews, from smooth IPAs to rich stouts, along with some truly creative seasonal and specialty releases. Don’t miss out on their barrel-aged offerings or limited-edition pours—they push the envelope in all the right ways. If you’re coming in during peak hours, though, just know there’s a bit of a wait for food; it can stretch up to an hour when the place is packed. But it’s hardly a drawback—grab a pint, take in the vibe, and let the anticipation build. Their food menu pairs perfectly with the beer, featuring everything from hearty mains to shareable bites that complement the brews. Commonwealth Brewery combines everything you want in a craft brewery: atmosphere, flavor, and originality. Come ready to relax and enjoy, because you’ll want to stay awhile.

The location is great and easy to get to, with ample parking available. It’s also extremely dog-friendly, which is what initially drew us in. It was nice to see other dogs around. The building and setting is clean, seating was readily available, and the whole place has a great feel, at least from the decor. Unfortunately, the staff weren’t very friendly or helpful. As first-time customers, we weren’t sure how the ordering and food/beverage system worked, and when we asked for clarification, the staff seemed annoyed or offended. We stopped asking questions and ended up taking our food to go, tipping 20% in advance for someone to bring our food out and nothing else. The food itself was decent. The hot chicken sandwich tasted a bit burnt, but the pizza was tasty. However, the prices felt a bit high for the quality. Based on our experience, we’re not likely to return, but others seemed to be enjoying themselves—maybe it's an acquired taste.

Heyy listen up, fellow brewskis! I been comming this rad brewing company that's straight-up awesome. First of all, their beer selection is off the charts. Like, they got choices for days, and let me tell you, my taste buds were doing the happy dance when I tried their Papi Chulo brew. It's like a flavor explosion in your mouth! But that's not all. They got this super cool frozen drink selection. I mean, who doesn't love a frozen beverage on a warm summer day that's icy cold and i believe they change the flavors weekly. And the best part? They allow dogs! I mean, come on, how pawsome is that? You can sip on your brewski while petting a furry friend. It's a total win-win situation. So, if you're looking for a place that's got killer beer choices, mind-blowing frozen treats, and a dog-friendly vibe, you gotta check out this brewing company. It's a place where beer dreams come true, my friends. Cheers to that, and let the good times roll

My favorite local brewery by far. First the beer. Lots of great IPA’s and Gose’ if you’re into them. Personally i’m a stout/porter and saison guy, which they have some great ones on tap all year round. They have some of the best tasting beers I’ve ever had and are always creating new beers to try. Whatever beers you are in to they most likely have something on tap for you to try. The addition of the kitchen with the wood fired pizza puts them on a whole notha level. Pizza are killer and they have awesome wings and beer pretzels too. Finally, what makes this such a cool spot is the location and local vibe. Chix beach is where the locals go and we always see someone we know when we visit. They are dog friendly and have a sweet table shuffleboard game my son loves to play. Keep up the good work guys!

Pretty decent place and it’s located in a neighborhood basically. The parking is very limited! We parked down the street and walked. Outside seating is nice to sit when the weather is nice and you can order food from your table by scanning the QR code. They even bring it out to you. The picnic tables could use some fixing as the seat benches are bowing and feel like they will break when you sit on them. You can see them bowing when no one is sitting on them so imagine when you sit down on them. The beer is good, we had IPAs and sours. The fries are REALLY good. Seasoned and fried to perfection. Pretzel is a win and it’s huge. I wish they would serve it with regular mustard too but overall awesome spot and place to hang out.
