The reason I am such a stickler for service is that I am in the service industry, and have been for 26 years. How about that?
First, call me biased for having lived in California for as long as I did, but this was NOT authentic Mexican cuisine. Period.
Btw I am Hispanic, Puerto Rican to be exact.This food was sadly lacking in all catagories. But at those prices, you at least expect fun atmosphere and service.
The older man at the door was flat-out rude, and looked at, and treated me as if I was there to rob the place. However, when caucasian patrons entered he was quite friendly to them. I felt it. It was quite obvious. Period. The server was so focused on making the woman sending her margarita back - she calling the one "disgusting" happy, he neglected me entirely, and it was far from busy. Another server took my order. Who sends margaritas back in a Mexican restaurant? Atmosphere? There was none, other than uncomfortable, rude, and at $20 for two lackluster enchilladas and an Iced tea, an extremely unhappy place. Fyi - update your prices on the menu so there is no suprise when you present the bill.

It's been likely over 7 years since my last visit to La Herradura VB. I use to be a regular. They do have a Norfolk location that the owners son runs.
My wife and I decided on a Friday Mexcan dinner during happy hour. We were greeted with smiles at the door by the hostess and owner. We were seated at a booth with menus, chips and salsa. Also drink orders were taken. Of course a margarita was in order to celebrate Friday. It was dashed out and super yummy!
The dining room was over half full around 630. The bar that seats around 8-10 was oddly empty. Everything seemed clean.
In short order our friendly waitress brought my 24oz Margarita on the rocks with salted rim arrived and was super! I ordered a buritto deluxe with side of rice. My wife chicken enchilada.
The food hit the table within 15 minutes and was HOT! Everything looked great! My wife and i really enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was strong and checked on us a few times. As well the owner checked in.

First and last time eating at this establishment. Went to pick up 2 orders only had one small container of salsa for me and my co worker. Requested an additional small container and she told me it was an additional almost 2 dollars . She told me to give back the white sauce and she would give me another salsa🤣 o by the way was in my car !! So she would take back the white sauce from my car and give it to another customer 🤔 .O and forgot when I entered the establishment to pay she didn't have any change so I gave her the extra 80 cents for nothing and she could not give me a small cup of salsa !! Are times that hard for your restaurant 🤣🤣 I have never seen anything like this!!! And the food wasn't even that good!!
