This is the absolute worst restaurant I have ever been to. Ever. I've eaten in 46 different states and 2 countries and I have never had a more miserable experience in my life. I have never left a restaurant angry before. Ever. They even charge you 3 dollars if you want to split a meal with your date. They sat my guest and I at a tiny table. These tables aren't even big enough to seat and serve 1 person, let alone 2. The table wobbled so badly our drinks almost fell off. There was absolutely no room to put our drinks with the 2 plates of food. This restaurant charges top dollar and uses bottom tier food. I ordered a 13 dollar Ruben and was expecting a good sized sandwich. It came out small and almost as flat as a grilled cheese. I was in complete shock. Then I took a bite. I couldn't believe how bad it was. I can't believe a cook prepared that and was satisfied with the job he did. They charge top dollar for omelets and then use the cheapest liquid egg. This place is an absolute disaster. The highlight of this restaurant is the waitress we had cracked a few funny jokes. For some reason they were playing some God awful dance music like we were in a club. I absolutely loathed everything about this place and if I could give it negative stars, I would. They also charge extra if you pay with a credit/debit card. W T F?? This is 2023 and you're charging people extra to use a card? I still can't believe this place actually has tables this small. The chairs they use are old chairs from a school library. It is really sad because this place has potential based on the location alone. I wouldn't eat here if they offered me free food for life. I had high hopes for this place but I've never seen failure on this level. I feel bad for every hard working waitress here. Do not eat here. Turn and run as fast as you can. 1 star. Do not recommend. This is the place flavor...

Sad news. I was in town and was looking forward to a nice breakfast. The boss wasn't there. Didn't recognize anyone. I think they sold this business or maybe they're trying to expand? I don't know. There isn't a website on this place. It looks like they are sourcing the same foods, i.e. like fries, but no care in the preparation! My fries had been sitting under the heat lamp and my sandwich wasn't cut evenly. It's like the cook was rushing to get the food out so it wasn't very good. The only thing that tasted the same to me was the coffee. I have to downgrade this review to a 3 now :-(
Update: 6/29/2019
Food is the same. The boss was directing traffic on a Sunday; all but one of the waitresses are gone after a year away :-(
2018:
This review is long overdue. This place is absolutely great. I was on work assignment in the area for a year and I went to this place for lunch or breakfast every day I could, once I found it.
Everything on the menu is good and it's a large menu. The waitresses are friendly and efficient. If you go frequently as I did, then they will know you by name and have your drink for you as you sit down. Having gone to this place for a year, I have tried many different things on their menu and have had the same item many times. Every time I have an item, it comes out delicious. Of course realistically there has been some minor thing here or there that wasn't exactly perfect but it has been very minor.
Weekends are their busiest time so if you want to avoid the crowds, recommend Tuesday or Wednesday. I wish I could take this place home with me. I would give this place a ten but I can only...
Read moreA True Neighborhood Gem for Breakfast Rooster's is the kind of classic, no-frills breakfast spot that every neighborhood needs. Tucked away in a Virginia Beach shopping center, it's a place that immediately feels welcoming, like you've been coming here for years even on your first visit. It’s clear from the friendly chatter and the staff who seem to know everyone that this is a beloved local favorite. We stopped in for a late breakfast on a Friday morning and were greeted with a smile and seated right away. The coffee was hot, fresh, and plentiful—our cups were never empty for long. The menu is packed with all the breakfast and lunch staples you could hope for, and the prices are more than fair. I opted for the Western Omelet, and it was fantastic. It was generously filled with fresh ham, peppers, and onions and cooked perfectly—not a bit of brown on it. The home fries on the side were crispy and well-seasoned. My friend’s French toast looked equally delicious, thick-cut and dusted with powdered sugar. The food came out quickly, and it was clear everything was made to order with care. If there's any room for improvement, it might be the general ambiance. The decor is a bit dated and simple, but in a way, that's part of its charm. It’s clean and comfortable, but don't come here expecting trendy aesthetics. You come here for the fantastic service and the genuinely good, homestyle cooking. Rooster's is a solid, reliable choice that earns its four stars for delivering a wonderful, unpretentious dining experience. We will...
