My fiancé was recommended this place as having great coffee and food. Parking was difficult to find, and the place was packed on a Sunday afternoon. I took that as a good sign until I saw the Monin syrup bottles. (Anyone who knows much about coffee knows that Monin is bottom of the line in syrups. Even if you have amazing espresso, mixed with low quality syrups like this, it will drag it down.)
The cashier recommended a cinnamon roll latte that she made up the day before, and I said I’d try it. 1 pump white mocha, 1 pump cookie dough, and 1 pump cinnamon. Each pump was $0.75, making the drink $10…for 1 pump of each. I was still trying to be optimistic, but it was really bad. It tasted very artificial and incohesive. They did exchange it for an iced butter pecan latte, but that wasn’t good either. It had zero flavor and was very milky, to the point that, to try to salvage some of the money spent, I went to Starbucks and got an iced espresso shot with some vanilla syrup to mix with it, which made it so I could at least muster through it.
The pastries were really bad. They were stale. The guava pastry I got was underbaked a bit and the guava jam inside was too sharp. My fiancé is military and can muster through most foods after eating MREs, but he said the scone he got was worse than bad ship food, which is saying something. We were so excited to try this place, but from start to finish, it was a $40 mistake. Pastries were $4.95 each. My drink that I had to spend more money to salvage was $10 with the 3 $0.75 charges for 1 pump of each cheap, artifical syrup. And my fiance got a sandwich that he could only eat half of. The atmosphere was okay, but I canNOT recommend...
Read moreLOVE THE COFFEE AND THIS PLACE! So cute and the coffee here is so good. Definetly will get overwhelmed if its your first time. I was only because there are so many flavors and so many choices. But i think thats what I liked most was exploring the flavors. I I definetly suggest getting a flight. So a flight is a remix of a beer flight just with coffee. You get to pick which coffee's you want and flavours. Which is pretty cool because you can try any version of anything they have on the menu. We allowed the cashier to help us choose because we had no clue what was good and what wasnt. Coffee does come in different variarions and its alot lols. Fyi I shared the flight with my friends which was a cool experience. I got a blueberry green tea- SOOOOO GOOD best one ive ever had Caramel Macchiato- better then starbucks Coco loco - didnt try it but the name sounded cool. Hot vanilla latte - did not try lols Hot cappuccino Hot dark mocha
We opted for 3 cold 3 hot. I think it came out to about 16 i cant remember price but for the quantity and also quality of the drinks thats a steal!
My only drawback was that this is not kid friendly. The store is long but width wise its not that big. People hog up the tables for hours! Its like 1 person at a 4 person table for a long time. Which to be fair alot of moms dont have the patience to sit in a coffee shop for long. But for those of us who like to meet up with friends to chat this was really hard. Strollers are too bulky for this place. Tables arent always available because of popularity. So keep that in mind when you go here but all in all it was a...
Read moreWhile the quality of coffee seems legit and the authentic cuban-style cuisine is prevalent, it is a shame that their customer service lacks. I waited in line nearly 30 minutes, even though I arrived only 20 minutes after the place even opened. When I got to the line (finally) I was informed that they RAN OUT of COFFEE FLIGHTS. The thing that they brand themselves by, that makes them famous, they run out of it. This lack of supplies, was not the fault of the employees working there today, but the fault of management or whoever is in charge of this facility. Running out of a speciality that makes the place famous is a fatal flaw. While that is not the barista's fault, what I do attribute to my awful experience is the customer service and flow of the restaurant. None of the staff were friendly, and the experience was painfully slow. When I ordered my food and drink, they take 20 minutes to make "okay" coffee and 35 minutes to make a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. As someone who attends coffee shops on a regular basis (practically weekly) and has seen the best and worst, I can truly say that this experience was poor. I don't care if this place makes coffee flights, I will not be returning or driving 40 minutes to stand for an hour waiting for poor service and a cheap excuse for lack...
