I typically love Sushi King 🍣. I've tried many different locations and they all usually taste fairly similar. A good sushi to mask the craving for a cheap price. It's not mind-blowing sushi but it's tasty nonetheless. So image my surprise when I went to this "top rated" sushi king and everything was subpar. It started with the fact that children aren't charged by age like every other locations but by their HEIGHT! who does that?! I can't comprehend how this is acceptable. Anyways, I digress. The menu didn't look like the typical menu either, no seaweed , or Kani salad. No soup and no CRAB RANGOON. AT this point I'm GPSing the nearest location because um no. I understand it's lunch time but these are key item! So I speak with the server and he explains they do have the salads and soup ,but they aren't advertised. Then he states if you want crab rangoon then the dinner menu has to be purchased🤯 So sad, it's my favorite appetizer. On a high note server,Patrick, was absolutely amazing! He was kind, attractive, and fast.he took the time to explain their menu , brought us drinks fast and the food even faster. He never let us go without. He even brought my daughter and birthday dessert! Service was the best! If you're in the area and decide to give it a try ask for Patrick! Just be mindful the menu and taste is different from the rest.

I ordered takeout from this Sushi King for my daughter & I b/c they have great reviews & the location is in close proximity to her school. We're vegetarian ... so I can only speak from our experience. The Good: Cheese Wontons ... I'm glad I ordered two portions b/c they were the only edible food in the bag. They were decent. The Bad: This Sushi King only offers (1) vegetarian sushi roll option ... (1). Their featured vegetarian roll, the 'Vegetable Roll', tasted like processed baby food rolled inside of a soiled baby diaper. The Ugly: Did I mention the 'Vegetable Roll'? Unfortunately, I ordered (3) rolls at $17.85 & after biting into a single piece, containing a large'chunk of 'raw' carrot, I immediately placed the lid back on the container, took the loss, & disposed of the 'dirty diaper roll'. I've consumed expired, grocery store sushi that tasted better ... literally. The Vegetable Tempura ... was also egregious. Our order contained (4), clumsy, pieces that were neither appetizing or appealing ... the tempura was soggy & the vegetables were bland. I rarely post negative reviews ... but felt compelled to share this experience.

Okay, this is gonna sound sad, but I had never heard of Sushi King. My sister in law reached out to me and the other sisters to just hang out. I had been craving California Rolls for about a month, but I was too busy to go to my normal place. This place did NOT disappoint! The service was amazing, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was amazing. It was clean also (which is always a plus for me). Even the restroom (at least the women's restroom, lol) was clean. I'll definitely be going back again. For those who have never been, it was about $25 dollars and set up like a buffet - but you don't have to get up...THEY BRING IT TO YOU! All they ask, is that you eat what you ask for, so there's no waste. That's a reasonable request, to me. They will charge you extra, if you're wasteful. My ONLY dislike, is that the booths aren't large enough. It was 4 of us, which would've been enough space for us, except all of us carry pocketbooks/purses and we REFUSE to put them on the floor lol.😅 So, 4 people, with 4 bags....not enough space. Next time, I'll just bring my crossover purse. YEP! I'll be back, soon!

I very much enjoy Sushi King every time I've been but one particular incident or a series of incidents have occurred that have upset me and made me not want to give money to your restaurant ever again. One of your servers (Pauline is her name I believe) at the location in Monticello Ave is pretty rude and has harassed my wife to the point where she doesn't ever want to return. My wife goes frequently if I'm out of town maybe twice a week and when I'm home we might go once in the blue moon. But when she goes and has Pauline as a server she always says she doesn't know what she did to deserve the treatment that she gives. So maybe about 2 months ago we went and I saw of the treatment she was talking about she wouldn't say much at the table just take our food walk away and not engage us, I thought maybe she was having an off day until another table came in and she noticeably more perky for them. Okay didn't think much on it just was disappointed. The last time we visited your place she completely ignored us didn't say anything just stared as we gave our orders. If I asked for something she wouldn't meet my eye, if I said thank you or please she acted as if she didn't hear me. I'm always pretty polite so is my wife and we had a friend with us, so finally I said to my wife maybe you should ask us. After a gentleman came in sat behind us and she talked to him like they were old friends and still look at us as if we had stole from her. So my wife finally asked (my wife at this point is convinced we've done something to offer her ) I was actually convinced it was either the fact that we were a gay couple or that we were bigger and the amount of food we ordered disgusted her. She yelled at my wife and actually dispelled my theory and said because when my wife and her friend come they don't tip very well and so basically she said why put it in the effort . While I know my wife is a tipper the average check for my wife with military discount isn't much so it doesn't warrant a 10 tip when she's alone or even when we're together. But I have given your servers that tip before who have given good service no matter if they thought we'd tip or not. It's appalling the whole thing is, but it begs one question from me. Is your restaurants not making sure your employees are making enough so they can survive? She seems genuinely hurt about the whole thing like she couldn't afford her bills if my wife don't tip her 10 dollars on a 10 bill every time. I'm sorry to say I will no longer be visiting your...

Service was great. Waiter was super attentive. Food was not so great.

I've been here before and they use to be super great quality for all you can eat and it seems they've gone down hill. I don't expect a 5 star experience for all you can eat but the experience was less than stellar.

I got sat next to the kitchen and all I could smell was cleaning chemichal over the food, to the point i was tasting it while i ate. The appetizers i got were good and I had no complaints about those.

I ordered some traditional sushi rolls next and the rice felt like it came right out of the rice cooker without a chance to cool. The flavor of hot sushi wasn't very appealing.

I got a hibachi steak and shrimp with fried rice next and it had no real flavor other than whatever cleaner I was smelling from the kitchen, to the point I was concerned it was actually in my food. I ate a couple bites and just told them I wasn't happy with it.

The last thing I ordered was a Boston roll which is shrimp, lettuce, cucumber and avocado. It was a huge wad of rolled rice and funky lettuce with a few scraps of the other ingredients listed. I understand it's all you can eat but this was delivered as this roll oversized on the cheap ingredients and barely any of the quality ingredients and was very unbalanced. I ate one piece and decided it was best to not order anything else.

I ended up just asking for the check and was planning on quietly leaving and just not coming back. I stopped to use the restroom before I left and if I had been in there before I ate, i likely would have just left.

The bathroom had a sickly sewer smell to it when you opened the door.

I walked into one of the stalls and The wall behind the toilet and the stall wall itself had flakey dry looking debris stuck to it that looked like old vomit and even the base of the toilet had that "flaky" junk around it which made me think it had been there a bit and the bathrooms definitely aren't cleaned well or often. I wish I got pictures but It was just pretty gross and considering how the food didn't taste right, it left me extra concerned that I saw and smelled what appeared to be signs of people getting sick in the bathroom and I just wanted to be away from it.

Definitely won't be back after...

I haven't eaten at Sushi King in years since finding O'Yummy Sushi. We decided to give it a try again. Upon arrival, we were sat immediately. It took around 5 minutes for our server to get to our table but it was fine. I asked if I could have a regular menu for my daughter because she couldn't eat "all you can eat". She said no that it was only AYCE. I wasn't happy but whatever. It costs $25.99/person. The one thing I do like is that you can order half rolls.

We placed our order for our apps and they came out fast. I didn't like how they put sauce on the plate instead of a cup with your gyoza because it makes them soggy on the bottom. Nonetheless they were good. We all ordered our sushi rolls and they came out pretty quickly as well. Because they were so busy, it made me wonder if they weren't pre-made. If I'm being completely honest, I personally didn't care for their sushi. Maybe I'm just partial to O'Yummy? I don't know I just wasn't that impressed. Oh, and another thing, I also don't like that they don't serve sashimi. Theirs comes on rice and you have to eat all of it or they charge you.

They have an area to go get your own Miso soup with lots of tofu and green onions to add to it but when I walked over to get some the pot was empty. I guess they didn't realize it. They also have a LOT of different ice cream in three cases to choose from and it's part of the AYCE.

Will we ever go back ? Eehhh, probably not. Like I said before, I just wasn't that impressed. But other people seem to...
