No, no, no. I cannot recommend and will never return for two reasons: First, the meal. I had Schweinebraten (roast pork) with kraut and potatoes. The kraut was good, but the potatoes were boring at best. The roast pork was overcooked and dry and, well dry, dry, dry. It came with a bit of marinade but without the mushroom gravy advertised on the menu. Without the kraut, I'd have not been able to eat the pork.

Second, the bill was very deceiving. Hidden in the menu is a notice that an 18% gratuity will be automatically added to each person's dinner bill. An 18% tip is fine, but we didn't see this in the menu and the waiter/owner didn't bother to tell us. (I found it in their on-line menu when I got home.) I nearly tipped another 20% on top of their added 18% gratuity, before I looked at the bill and saw what they had done. I've never had the tip added to a meal like this and I find...

Tried out the Road Agent Roost in Virginia City today. Gotta say, it's pretty nicely set up. We went on a hot day, which isn't usual around here, so it wasn't air-conditioned and was really warm inside. As for the food, I tried the potato pancakes, but they weren't quite right. The currywurst was okay, but not great. The best dish was surprisingly not German: the bison potato soup. It tasted like homemade potato soup with bison. Too bad there weren’t any Frankfurters or Bockwurst. The daily specials were all American dishes. Overall, it's a tasty change of pace here in Montana, but it's not an authentic German spot. The nice lady running the place is worth the visit if you just want something good to eat, but don't expect it to be...

Didn’t get a chance to eat, got there at 4:50 and sign said open again at 5 so we sat outside and waited. Two different couples walked in and ignored the sign, sat down. We went up to the door at 5:01 and a fellow sat us, very polite, and gave us menus. The waitress is helping the table that walked in before 5, another couple now comes in and the waitress said I will be with you in a bit, “all these people just walked in and we weren’t open yet” I politely said I’m sorry, this gentleman sat us and gave us menus, and you were open! She then went back to the first table and continued having a random conversation with them and ignored us! We then opted to leave and go to the Virginia City Cafe and had the most...

We didn’t go there because we’re German but because we liked the quaint interior. Our server was awesome, she ran the whole place all on her own and was going 100mph without missing out on anything. The food tasted delicious, we had burgers and potato and cucumber salad on the side. While the restaurant claims that some of the dishes are German, we wouldn’t confirm that the sides, like the potato and cucumber salad, were traditionally German or tasted like at home but we didn’t care at all. We’d never demand food to taste like at home. If we would, we could as well just stay at home :) Lovely place! Absolutely recommend.

Came for lunch already knowing what I would like. Ordered a basic cheeseburger with LTP, no onions still working for the day. I ordered the side of Noodles and gravy, as I've had them a year ago. Burger was cooked right, not much flavor though and veggies were fresh. The noodles were OK, the gravy was just warm, but didn't want to bother as they were busy on noon time run. Overall it was good! Only issue, is I had to ask for water refills. Overall will visit again. Great job
