221 Tap and Table — Restaurant in Virginia

So on this particular night, me and my girls decided to 221 tap again for our monthly girls night, and we came with good intent, that we will have the same service that we’ve always had. Unfortunately, that was not the key. The server that we had was not so friendly didn’t smile, grew agitated because we didn’t order when she want us to. it was about 630 not too late, but you know when girls get together, they talk and we can come chatty and stuff and we told her just give us a minutes or so. well, that was not happening, she end up talking over us she disregarded our not liking to certain foods or certain stuff we noticed that the table didn’t have (straws and napkins) but beside us was filled with Caucasian, older women and a gentleman, and one child we noticed they were getting a different treatment than we noticed because we are African-American and one Caucasian, She was very cheerful, smiled, playful, but we didn’t get that in return and in return we received her talking over us disregarding just no kind of happiness at all so I was very unpleased and not sure if I returned to have the same server. We probably will have to choose a different location for the next coming months. But overall our food was OK. We had a couple challenges with different likings in the tasting and end up just dealing with it and not being accommodated for it….It was four of us so she did get her tip for the night but I was just overall not happy with her service. “I was OK with the food and my drinks but not happy with...

Ordered fried shrimp (Nashville hot) shrimp not breaded but were fried , lol....Ordered calamari...sauce & calamari cold....took forever to get the apps which came out separately, 10 plus minutes apart from each other...received our salads first before the apps....my smash burger was good, tough to mess up a smashburger but heard they had to redo it by our waitress...asked about the fries if they season or preseason, waitress advised we season the fries after we cook them...not even close, they were preseason fries....had the braised beef dish, couldn't even eat it. My Mothers dinner came out first then mine 5 minutes later...something was wrong in the kitchen had to be to serve what they served..... waitress was pleasant and kind. Place had good atmosphere, clean establishment....heard the food was good but ours was not ....wasted $84.00 on dinner with $17.00 tip ( tip was fine, she worked hard).....be a while till I try it again...seemed like the manager was more concerned about the games on TV and what sections the second shift staff had then watching over the food & presentation of his dishes..but like I said it seems busy and the menu looks good....sorry to leave a bad review but it was nothing me, felt bad for my Mother , she's 91...

The decor is very cute. The food was alright, but is a little pricy. My boyfriend got the Eggs Benedict Florentine and really enjoyed them though the poached eggs weren't runny. I got the Chicken and Waffle Casserole. I was expecting a portion of a casserole but it was more so a sandwich which was fine but it was just a fourth of a sandwich I would’ve expected two sections like the Eggs benedict or maybe add some fresh fruit to fill up space on the plate. And it definitely needed a sauce since the French toast bottom was a bit thick and the chicken was flavorful but a little dry and the waffle top was very, very crispy and plain. The description listed maple syrup so maybe it was supposed to come with some but it didn't get on the plate I ended up asking for a side of syrup which helped. And I didn't realize til I got home that mine was supposed to have cheese which it didn't have on it. The hash browns were very well seasoned and very good. Overall since this was still the soft opening it wasn't bad but there are some areas that need work. I'll probably wait a few months and then maybe try them out for...
