86 Mexican Bar&Grill — Restaurant in Virginia

I should’ve just listened to all the reviews but we still decided to give it a chance🙃.. my husband and i went there right after we got off work and we were the only costumers until 10 mins later a couple came in too but went straight to the bar and then played at the pool.. we then got our chips and salsa and u the chips were old, it tasted too stale😫 then we both ordered the street tacos(3 for $10) and a side of tamales.. later on more people came but went straight to the bar area.. Mind you, it’s just my husband and i at the booth area, it has been more than 20mins and the food still wasn’t out, as i look around i saw the couple that came in right after us at bar area already eating and we were STILL haven’t gotten our food.. finally after another 15 mins we finally got our food and tell me whyyyy it wasn’t even fresh at all!! The tamales were cold and it has cheese on top of it! I’ve never seen that before! The tacos were cold as-well and so tiny and very very bland!🥲 I have to drowned it with hot sauce and even with that didn’t help! It only took us about 10 mins to eat our food, didnt even finish it! I was too eager to get out of there bcz of hw slow and bad the food! It took another extra 15 mins to finally get the check! Seriously...

Trided out the place to see how it was for dinner and found out the Shells were a bit old it seems, the salsa was thin but pretty good. I had a taco salad which seemed small with little meat. It tasted blah, but added the salsa and it made it much better. My wife had a bean and cheese burrito dry and she said it was pretty good. Here dessert was fried ice cream which was good and fresh. No aftertaste at all from the fry oil. Our friends had the veggie fajutas and they were burnt and over cooked. His wife had refried beans and Mexican sausage. She ate the beans and sent the meat back. Our waiter was great and tried to make it enjoyable. We arrived around 7:30 ish and should have figured the food was less than great when we were the only patrons except for a few guys sitting at the bar. We stayed for the karaoke and that was fun and we enjoyed ourselves. It happens Wednesday and Thursday nights starting around 8:30 pm still ???. Food was decent but portions not as large compared to other Mexican restaurants I eat at, and prices are considerably higher as well. I especially couldn't believe how much just cheese dip cost and that was without chips too. I thought the menu said they delivered which was my biggest reason for wanting to eat here but when we called they said they only delivered through deal dash which I am unfamiliar with, I said that and the person did not offer any information about how to use deal dash or anything so I ended up having to go get the food, when we went the price was much higher than the person on the phone said and it turned out they had made a mistake and added a whole other meal which we still ended up paying for. I dont think we will be returning here. I love the cheese dip which would be 90 % of my reason for returning but I dont want to pay so much for a very small " bowl" especially when it doesn't even...
