I was very excited to get to eat at Anthony’s XIV Pizza in Marshall, Virginia as that is where my cousin works - proving that a love for pizza runs in my family’s blood. They have some dine-in area but mostly serve carry-out and delivery, and, if you get it delivered, you may be lucky enough to receive your pizza from my cousin. Anthony’s has a very large menu that includes appetizers, wings, salads, gyros, pasta, calzones, stromboli, hoagies, subs, chicken entrées, desserts, and, most importantly, pizza. Just the pizza portion of their menu is very expansive as they offer their regular pizza, Sicilian pizza, gourment pizza that includes garlic, olive oil, and ricotta as well as special topping options, and pizza specialties, one of which being Anthony’s double layer pizza.
Anthony’s double layer pizza consists of any pizza topped with a double layer of their freshly made dough seasoned with garlic butter and Italian herbs. I really liked the seasonings on the double layer pizza, but I may prefer their regular pizza as you can better taste the toppings on it since there is less dough. My favorite part about my greasy pepperoni and bacon pizza was the thick pieces of bacon that came on it. I also tried their cheese breadsticks as an appetizer, and they were pretty good. My only complaint would be that the edge pieces lacked cheese, but the middle pieces had plenty and were very tasty. I think Anthony’s XIV Pizza is a good spot for pizza in Marshall as there aren’t a lot of other options in this small town, and they do say that “nobody...
Read moreEvery time I order from Anthony’s in Marshall I try to order online. Not through the slice app just from the Anthony pizza app. I keep getting Slice. I do not want to pay all the extra charges and a tip with my Credit Card. Each time I wind up having to call the shop. I find the staff to be “falsely“ polite and in a big hurry. Very quick and hard to understand at times, but rudeness in their voice if you ask them to slow down and repeat themselves. This is their attitude every time I place an order. I don’t order for myself and never will. However they are the only shop that delivers in the Marshall area, and this is for a family member. It’s sad that they have the monopoly on pizza delivery. A kind word goes a long way but I guess they get enough business to act accordingly. This last call angered me the most when I conveyed my feelings and was told, by her, she was being polite. If the customer perceives rudeness an argument about how the staff feels they are being polite is not what they want to hear. Maybe an answer such as, “ I am sorry I didn’t realize it sounded that way.” I am buying their product they are not doing me a favor selling it to me! Maybe a course in manners, respect and community appreciation would help the staff that answers the phones and takes orders, would benefit Anthony’s and make the customer feel like they want to do business with them!! Thank you for this opportunity to express my feelings. Linda Deardoff...
Read moreMarshall resident, been here before you opened. Your food for the last couple years has been spiraling downhill. Last night was the final straw for me. I don't think your employees salt the pizza. Bit besides the tasteless crushed tomatoes you call Pizza sauce , last night's pepperoni pizza went in the trash after two bites. I don't know if it was cheap cheese , cheap pepperonies or what . You might as well have filled a glass with Ocean water and tried to drink it . THAT SALTY!!!!!! And the bad thing is you ask primo prices for that . Yea I said that ..with Joe's not much better I will have to report to going to Warrenton for my pizza. Sorry guys, cutting down to cheap ingredients and charging primo price is loosing you...
