Not super impressed. First, they donât have menus. Guess what? Not everyone has a cell phone with a QR reader. So, I had to wait for my husband to review the menu before I could look at his phone. (I imagine my senior parents would have walked out because they donât even have a smart phone between the two of them.) I donât think itâs asking much to have single-use menus; most places weâve been to in the last several months have them. Hubby got Firecracker Shrimp, which he enjoyed (I tried the sauceâvery good, but I donât like shrimpâŠnot their fault. :) ) Hubby had steak with bourbon glaze. Enjoyed the glaze; he said the steak was âokâ (didnât specify what he didnât like). He asked for brown gravy on the side for his mashed potatoes. Good thing it was on the side because it was awful. Tasted like paint. I got county fried chicken. The chicken was good, but I didnât love having sausage gravy on it. The two were each good in their own right, but I didnât love the combo together. I ordered a salad; it came AFTER my entrĂ©e. Which took forever, and I think may have been sitting awhile before the waiter brought it out, because it wasnât very hot. We waited a while for our entrĂ©es, and the place wasnât very busy. Also noted staff not having masksâŠone didnât have it on in the kitchen, but put it on once he was about five steps into the dining area. As we were leaving, we saw someone else come in the front door, and took his mask off as he was coming in. (Sort of backwardsâŠmost people are putting them on as they walk in the door.) They have a gazillion TVâs, but none of them have closed...
Read moreWe went in about 1p on a sat they were steady with buiness. We figured we would try this place out since it's in our neighborhood. The chicken salad was pretty good. The fries could have been better not fresh cut or had been sitting for a bit. The 3 stooges sliders were kinda dry. Our waitress was busy doing side work which l understand has to be done but never asked how's the food, do you need anything refills we had to constantly wave her down. We had desserts with bread pudding we had to send back mto heat up because it was cold. The apple dessert was a disappointment too for $9 its was pretty small but not that good. You think they could get it right the apple blossom.was warm and freash but the icecream had ice crystals and not so good. The whipcream was already melted down as if they didn't have a good can of whipcreme. I use to own 3 icecream stores and you never serve this. After returning the bread pudding to be reheated we were not about to say anything about the icecream. I don't think they had their best food kitchen staff working. I am being generous with the 4 stars because l hope they succeed and can build on success. Also the place was clean...
Read moreI'm pretty easy going, but my last visit was the final straw. When we walked in, there was a sign that the dining room was closed (early afternoon on a Saturday). There was a waitress on the bar side just mulling around. I asked her about the sign, and she said that the other waitress put it out but she dining room was open and we should just take a seat. We selected a table, and after a bit, the other waitress dashed by our table and said she would get to us in 10 minutes. She seemed very frenzied and it became obvious why she put out the closed sign. She didn't want more work, pathetic by itself, but the bar side waitress wasn't helping out. She was working her side and wasn't busy at all. This is really poor management and customer service. We decided not to burden the poor girl and left. We had dined here before with a really mixed experience with the service. The food is OK, but the rest of it is actually pretty bad. I had to convince my companion to return, but after this experience, this place, sadly, will be crossed off the list of potential dining places. Maybe they just don't need...
