As an enthusiast of vibrant nightlife scenes, I was eager to explore Babylon, drawn in by promises of great music, refreshing drinks, and an inviting ambiance. However, my recent visit left me with a sour taste in my mouth, overshadowing the otherwise pleasant atmosphere.
Let's start with the positives. The lounge boasts a diverse playlist that caters to various tastes, ensuring that patrons can groove to the rhythm all night long. Coupled with a well-stocked bar offering a plethora of drinks, from classic cocktails to exotic concoctions, there's no shortage of libations to enhance the experience.
Unfortunately, this Wednesday evening took an unexpected turn when I witnessed a concerning incident involving one of the regular patrons and a member of the security staff. As I mingled with other guests, I couldn't help but notice a familiar face slipping a Hennessy bottle to a security guard name starts with a K. What unfolded next was both surprising and alarming.
Rather than safeguarding the integrity of the establishment, the security guard and the regular customer clandestinely retreated to the back where the restrooms were located, presumably to indulge in the contents of the bottle. To my dismay, I observed him pouring drinks into plastic cups, creating an unsettling scenario that compromised the professionalism and integrity of the lounge.
What's more troubling is that the individual who provided the alcohol seemed to be a regular, comfortably cashing himself out behind the bar--an act that blurs the lines of responsibility and accountability within the establishment. Such lax enforcement of rules not only undermines the safety and security of patrons but also raises questions about the management's commitment to upholding standards.
In light of this egregious security breach, I can't in good conscience rate Babylon higher than one star. While the music and drinks may be enticing, the potential risks posed by such incidents far outweigh any enjoyment derived from the experience. Until proper measures are taken to address these concerns and ensure the safety of all guests, I'll be hesitant to return or recommend this establishment to others.
In conclusion, while Babylon has the potential to be a hotspot for nightlife enthusiasts, it's imperative that management addresses the underlying security issues to maintain the trust and confidence of...
Read moreTo be fair, I never tried the food and the atmosphere was OK. I came here for a Halloween event. My guest and I arrived late and approached the bar for a quick drink. We waited there for quite some time as the employees were cleaning up and ignoring customers so they could get out of there at a decent hour. I have been a bartender for over 20 years off so I know the procedure. With that being said, I am very happy to tip and tip well so this has caused me to write a review. What I cannot stand is for bartenders to over abuse their power. I ordered two drinks and the bartender told me the total was $49. $49?!? However, I did have a Don Julio and Tito’s which may have been considered top shelf, I reasoned. Of course, many restaurants and bars Price gauge their customers, especially with particular events. I pay the bartender, she still stands there after I hand her a 50, all that I had at the time would you would think would be adequate for two drinks. She stares…and waits…and tells me I now owe her an extra $10..At this point, I am embarrassed. And confused why would two drinks cost $60? We are not in Miami, Vegas or in a swanky New York club… She stares and stares at me and I start searching for additional money to tip her accordingly. I asked my guest to reach into his pockets, but it is hard for him as he has a costume on and is restricted. Finally, I say, I do not understand the price or what you are saying it is loud so can you please give me a receipt? She then goes to the register and says never mind. I gave her enough money. And then she returns a dollar bill and the receipt. As I look at the receipt, I see a eight dollar gratuity has already been included on the total and that is why the drinks are $49, not the $59 she demanded of me. Why was she still expecting more?! As a bartender, I generally get tipped maybe a dollar a drink not eight dollars for two drinks and she still asked me for an additional $10 which would have allotted her a $20 tip on two drinks.!!! I swear, I cannot stand greedy people, and especially bartenders who exploit their power. I’m...
Read moreI've been come to this cafe for years and for the most part it's a nice environment but today I can honestly say worst place I've ever been. The way I was treated was beyond terrible. I can to the cafe alone while I was there I seen some familiar faces who wanted a table I went to my favorite waitress and ask if she could find a spot for 4 ppl not including me and she did. Later that night when they left the waitress came to me and told me "your friends left without paying" I told her it had to be a mistake and I will call them back. While I was trying to reach The acquaintances the staff basically forced me in the kitchen and took my ID and Credit Card and charged without my permission lucky it was an expired card which did go through. I wasn't even allowed to leave the kitchen to seen if they ppl who skipped the bill had come back to pay for it. While that was going on the had call the police to come arrest me. Finally my acquaintance showed up and paid the money in full. And explain that there was actually a misunderstanding. Cash amount had been given to one of the four individuals who said at the table to make the payment and unfortunately some people can't be trusted they took the money for themselves. Which I had no knowledge of because I never sat at the table with the four. Babylon Staff Is Terrible!!! I Never Forget their so called Kindness. But I like to apologize to the wonderful waitress who nothing wrong and in fact she was...
